Job DescriptionJob Title: Automotive Claims & Customer Service Representative Department: Claims / Customer Support Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary The Automotive Claims & Customer Service Representative is responsible for assisting customers and automotive dealers with inquiries, account status, and problem resolution related to Vehicle Service Contracts (VSC). This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex, high‑value claims in a fast‑paced, high‑volume call environment. Successful candidates are flexible, collaborative team players with a solid understanding of vehicle operations and warranty claims. Key Responsibilities Customer & Dealer Support • Answer high volumes of inbound calls (35+ per day) with professionalism and efficiency, • Respond to inquiries regarding coverage, exclusions, policies, and procedures, • Resolve customer and dealer issues accurately while maintaining quality standards, • Review, evaluate, and manage automotive repair and maintenance claims, including high‑dollar and complex cases, • Determine Vehicle Service Contract coverage by gathering and analyzing repair data, • Work closely with dealers and, when necessary, independent inspection companies, • Accurately process correspondence and contract cancellations in a timely manner, • Multitask across multiple systems while documenting all interactions thoroughly, • Perform rotating miscellaneous office and team assignments on a monthly basisRequired Skills & Qualifications, • Proven customer service experience with strong problem‑resolution skills, • Ability to multitask across multiple computer systems, • High attention to detail and openness to coaching and feedback, • Strong planning, organization, and communication skills, • Team‑oriented mindset with flexibility to adapt in a fast‑paced environment, • Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data to make informed decisionsPreferred Experience & Additional Qualifications, • 5+ years of experience in:, • Vehicle service contract claims or customer service, or, • Automotive dealership or independent repair shop environment, or, • A combination of relevant automotive or claims-related experience, • Associate Degree in Automotive Technology or equivalent automotive-related experience, • ASE Certification (preferred/mandatory depending on company requirements), • Previous leadership or supervisory experience, • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, • Ability to make rational, sound decisions under pressureTechnical & Industry Knowledge, • Understanding of automotive repair and maintenance claims processes, • Ability to communicate effectively with dealer service departments and repair facilities, • Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, components, and labor operations, • Familiarity with service contract coverage issues and claims submission processesComputer Skills, • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), • Ability to learn and use internal systems such as:, • AHM Mainframe (CICS), • AHM Interactive Network (iN) Dealer Portal #PriorityWest Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Torrance, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $29.67 - $29.67/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
