JOB POSTING About the Role – Lead Technician (Telecom / Fiber / Low Voltage) ACG is seeking an experienced Lead Technician to support and lead field operations for telecom, fiber optic, and low‐voltage cabling projects. This role combines hands‐on technical work with crew leadership, safety enforcement, and quality control. The Lead Technician serves as the on‐site technical lead, ensuring installations are completed correctly, safely, and in accordance with project specifications and company standards. This position is ideal for technicians ready to take the next step into leadership while remaining active in the field. Schedule & Reporting • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (flexibility as required), • Employment Type: Regular, Full Time, • Classification: Hourly, non‐Exempt, • Reports To: Project Manager / Field Supervisor, • Work Environment: Field‐based (multiple job sites, outdoor work zones) Company Culture • Safety‐first mindset on every job site, • Clear communication and documented work, • Accountability for quality and completion, • Leadership by example in the field, • Respect for procedures, permits, and standards Compensation & Benefits • Compensation: $22.00 - $26.00 hourly pay (based on experience), • Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrued every pay period; increases with tenure, • Paid Holidays: 7 full paid holidays annually, • Half Day Holidays: Christmas Eve & New Year’s Eve, • 401(k) Retirement Plan: 3.5% employer match, • Health, Dental & Vision Insurance: Available to eligible employees, • Training & Certifications: Technical and safety training supported What You Will Do Field Leadership & Installation • Lead installation, termination, and testing of fiber optic, CAT5/CAT6, and low‐voltage cabling, • Assign daily tasks and oversee work quality of technicians, • Work hands‐on alongside the crew to meet production goals, • Troubleshoot and resolve technical installation issues Safety, Quality & Compliance • Enforce OSHA, site‐specific, and company safety requirements, • Ensure work meets project specifications and quality standards, • Perform daily safety checks and job site readiness reviews, • Report incidents, hazards, or near‐misses immediately Documentation & Coordination • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and scopes of work, • Maintain accurate daily reports, testing results, and redlines, • Coordinate with Project Managers, inspectors, and other trades, • Support As‐Built documentation and close‐out requirements Training & Team Development • Train and mentor junior and entry‐level technicians, • Reinforce proper installation, labeling, and testing practices, • Promote productivity, teamwork, and accountability in the field Performance Expectations First 30 Days • Demonstrate strong safety leadership and job site awareness, • Execute installations with minimal rework, • Maintain accurate daily documentation, • Establish effective communication with crews and supervision Ongoing Deliverables • Consistent quality installations, • Safe, productive crew performance, • Complete and accurate documentation, • Reliable leadership and field execution Required Experience & Qualifications • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in cable installation or telecom field work, • Prior experience leading or supervising technicians preferred, • Strong knowledge of fiber optic and structured cabling systems, • Experience using testing equipment (OTDRs, power meters, certifiers), • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents, • OSHA certification preferred, • Valid driver’s license required, • Ability to pass background and safety screenings Skills & Competencies • Fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing, • CAT5/CAT6 termination and certification, • Troubleshooting and diagnostics, • Leadership and crew coordination, • Attention to detail and documentation accuracy, • Clear communication and problem solving Work Expectations • Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding environments, • Comfortable working at heights, in lifts, and confined spaces, • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., • Flexible hours based on project needs, • Ask questions immediately when plans or instructions are unclear—no assumptions Core Values • Accountability – Own results and follow through, • Character – Professional conduct and reliability, • Integrity – Honest work and accurate reporting, • Safety – Commitment to safe work practices, • Teamwork – Leads and supports field teams, • Trustworthiness – Consistent follow‐through and transparency Work Environment • Field‐based role with outdoor work and active job sites, • Travel to job sites as required Additional Notice This position is performance‐based.
