Job DescriptionJob Title: Production Quality Inspector – Day Shift (7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday–Thursday, Mandatory Overtime) Job Description This role combines hands-on production work with detailed quality inspection to ensure that manufactured products meet strict customer and quality system standards. You will perform inspections, use precision measurement tools, validate production runs, and support continuous improvement activities in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Perform daily production and quality assignments as directed by the supervisor or group leader., • Immediately report any equipment, process, material, safety, or quality concerns to the appropriate personnel., • Follow all work instructions, company policies, safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures at all times., • Meet or exceed established quality and production requirements while maintaining high attention to detail., • Conduct product inspections at defined intervals throughout the production process to verify conformance., • Validate first-piece production runs to ensure parts meet specifications before full production continues., • Perform customer-required quality testing and document results as needed., • Ensure all products comply with customer specifications and internal quality system standards., • Participate in internal and external quality audits, providing information and support as required., • Conduct process and inspection audits to verify adherence to procedures and identify improvement opportunities., • Use a variety of precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, scales, gage blocks, fixtures, and 3D measurement devices, to verify product dimensions and quality., • Read and interpret blueprints and technical data sheets to understand product requirements and inspection criteria., • Perform basic preventive maintenance on inspection and production equipment to ensure reliable operation., • Train team members in quality inspection and production processes as assigned., • Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness in assigned work areas to support a safe and organized environment., • Participate in problem-solving activities, continuous improvement initiatives, and customer complaint resolution., • Support other departments and functions as needed based on workload and production priorities., • Manage multiple priorities effectively while working under pressure and meeting deadlines., • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth production flow and consistent product quality.Essential Skills, • High school diploma or equivalent., • Minimum of 1 year of quality inspection experience or 1 year of production experience in a manufacturing environment., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings., • Proficiency with precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, scales, gage blocks, fixtures, and other inspection instruments., • Familiarity with coordinate measuring and 3D measurement devices., • Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting findings and collaborating with team members., • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities., • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality products., • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing production needs., • Basic math and reasoning skills with the ability to learn new concepts quickly., • Working knowledge of manufacturing supervision and production processes., • High attention to detail and accuracy in all inspection and documentation activities., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively in a team environment., • Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines., • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed., • Willingness to be cross-trained in additional functions within production and quality., • Ability to stand for the entire shift (7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.) with mandatory overtime as required.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in quality inspection, general production, and general labor in a manufacturing setting., • Hands-on experience with quality inspection and measurement, including dimensional checks and visual inspections., • Experience in packaging and final product verification., • Strong process monitoring and documentation skills to support audits and traceability., • Continuous improvement mindset with an interest in identifying and implementing process enhancements., • Experience with process auditing and compliance to quality standards., • Basic equipment care and preventive maintenance skills., • Time management and prioritization skills to balance inspection, production, and documentation tasks., • Comfort working in a structured, process-driven environment with defined work instructions and quality standards.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility with a strong team-oriented culture. The role is hands-on and production-focused, with a standard schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and mandatory overtime as required. You will spend most of the shift standing and working at production and inspection stations, using tools such as calipers, micrometers, scales, gage blocks, fixtures, and 3D measurement devices. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
