Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW The Quality Coordinator is responsible for managing the calibration and periodic testing processes and provides general support within the Quality Management System. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Calibrates the measuring and testing equipment used at the Company in accordance with internal procedures, • Maintains a register of equipment, specifying required accuracy and calibration frequency, while ensuring all measuring and testing equipment operate properly and stay calibrated, • Manages outside vendor calibration schedule and activities, keeps records of calibration and a list of all approved suppliers used by the Company, • Coordinates the periodic testing process and adheres to documented schedules, • Maintains records of periodic tests required for compliance with various plating specific specifications, ensures timely completion of tests, and maintains a history of test records and results, • Investigates and coordinates corrective actions for testing failures, • Responsible for maintaining the company recall list, • Assists in completing and submitting customer vendor surveys, • Issues non-conformance notices when testing fails, • Responsible for salt spray testing, maintenance, and analysis, • Create and maintain quality related documentation and records, • Performs housekeeping and follows safety regulations, • Works as an active team member by participating in problem solving, team building, and all other team activities to improve the processes, productivity, quality, etc. of the department, • Assists other team members as required, • Other duties as assigned KEY SUCCESS FACTORS To perform the job successfully, the individual should demonstrate the following competencies: • Growth Mindset: Embraces setback as opportunities for growth, persists in the face of obstacles, and continually seeks improvement; Is willing to step out of the comfort zone to achieve growth and success, • Above the Line: Exhibits “above the line” behaviors and attitudes such as accountability, ownership, honesty, integrity, collaboration, and proactive problem solving., • Outside - In Approach: Understands and prioritizes the needs of customers, • Communication Behavior: Brings an open-minded and respectful approach to communication at levels; Handles conflict in a constructive manner, seeking sustainable resolutions with all parties; Listens attentively; Communicates effectively, respectfully, and routinely keeps supervisor appraised about work status and challenges, • Teamwork and Cooperation: Participates in and promotes both teamwork and cooperation beyond department boundaries through cross-functional collaboration; Responds to team member requests with a positive attitude and timeliness; Takes on challenges timely, is willing to leave the personal comfort zone and doesn’t procrastinate, • Initiative: Shows engagement and takes appropriate action, • Personal Drive and Attitude: Goes the “extra mile” as needed to achieve targets; Remains calm, professional, and focused in stressful circumstances; Handles setbacks with a growth mindset and stays “above the line”, • Accountability: Accepts personal responsibility for achieving targets; Displays honesty and fosters trust across all organizational levels consistently; Able to accept failures and feedback with a consistent eye forward, • Safety Awareness: Understands of safety regulations; Follows instructions and adheres to safety protocols; Reports on safety concerns and incidents; Participates in safety training, • Change and Innovation: Identifies opportunities and brings ideas forward that provide solutions to workplace challenges; adapts well to changes in priorities, processes, or work assignments, • Professionalism: Sets an example of high standards through ethical and professional conduct ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: • Computer Skills: Must be computer literate, use of Microsoft Office is required, • Reading Comprehension: Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, job travelers, and communications, • Writing Skills: Ability to write English of a level required for Company shop documents and computer software entry, • Mathematical Skills: Basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division Education: • Required: High school diploma or GED Experience: Required: 1 year of quality-related experience Preferred: 2 - 3 years of quality related experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Physical Requirements: This position requires the employee to sit, stand, and walk frequently; lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds; finger and wrist dexterity required. Required to wear PPE (i.e. face, foot, eye, hand, and/or hearing protection) Work Environment: While performing duties of the job, the employee will work in an office setting within a metal finishing environment. The employee will be exposed to fumes and vapors, noise, chemicals, cold, heat, humidity, and dust. ITAR REQUIREMENT This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
