As a Software Engineering Manager Sr within PNC's Marketing & Technology organization, you will be based in Dallas, TX or Pittsburgh, PA. Engineering Manager – Marketing Adobe Platforms Role Summary The Engineering Manager for Marketing Adobe Platforms is a senior technical leader responsible for driving transformative, enterprise scale development across approximately six cross functional Adobe engineering crews. This role owns end to end technical execution, platform health, and engineering excellence for Adobe led capabilities, including AEM, AEP/RT CDP, Adobe Journey Optimizer, Assets, and Workfront, while ensuring delivery is tightly aligned to measurable marketing and business outcomes. This is a hands on technical management role, not a coordination function. The leader is expected to set technical direction, elevate engineering maturity, and make complex architectural and delivery trade offs in a highly regulated, enterprise environment. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Architecture -\tOwn the technical strategy and execution for Adobe Marketing platforms across multiple crews, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, performant, and enterprise ready. -\tServe as the primary technical decision authority for Adobe related engineering, including architecture patterns, integration strategies, and platform standards. -\tDrive modern engineering practices across Adobe development (API first design, event driven integrations, CI/CD, cloud native patterns, performance optimization). -\tPartner closely with Enterprise Architecture and Security to ensure compliance, data protection, and governance without slowing delivery. Multi Crew Engineering Management -\tLead and grow ~6 Adobe focused engineering crews, providing clear technical direction, prioritization, and execution discipline. -\tEnsure crews are aligned to a shared target architecture and are delivering incrementally toward that vision. -\tActively manage technical dependencies, cross crew integration points, and delivery risk, intervening early where needed. -\tBalance platform evolution with near term delivery commitments, avoiding both over engineering and short term fixes. Delivery & Execution Excellence -\tTranslate marketing and product intent into clear, executable technical plans with well defined success criteria. -\tEstablish and enforce “ready to execute” standards (architecture readiness, non functional requirements, dependency clarity) before teams commit to delivery. -\tUse PI Planning, Demo Days, and execution reviews as decision points, not status updates. -\tDrive predictable delivery through strong upfront engineering rigor and transparent trade off management. Engineering Culture & Talent Development -\tBuild a high performing engineering culture grounded in accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence. -\tCoach senior and mid level engineers, tech leads, and architects to raise the bar on design quality, code health, and system thinking. -\tIdentify skill gaps (e.g., Adobe specialization, data enablement, integration engineering) and proactively address them through hiring, upskilling, or vendor strategy. -\tAct as a technical mentor and escalation point for complex engineering challenges. Enterprise Partnership & Influence -\tPartner with Product, Marketing, Data, Platform, and Operations leaders to align technology execution with business outcomes, not just platform adoption. -\tRepresent Adobe engineering in enterprise forums, articulating technical trade offs, risks, and recommendations clearly to senior leadership. -\tInfluence roadmap decisions by grounding discussions in engineering reality, platform constraints, and long term sustainability. Required Qualifications -\t10+ years of software engineering experience with significant depth in enterprise platforms or complex distributed systems. -\tProven experience leading multiple engineering teams or crews delivering large scale, mission critical platforms. -\tStrong hands on background with modern web architectures, APIs, cloud platforms, and integration patterns. -\tDemonstrated ability to operate as a technical authority, making architectural decisions and guiding teams through ambiguity. -\tExperience working in regulated, security conscious environments with strong governance requirements. Preferred Qualifications -\tDirect experience with Adobe Experience Cloud (AEM, AEP/RT CDP, AJO, Assets, Workfront) or equivalent enterprise digital platforms. -\tExperience modernizing or scaling marketing, personalization, or customer engagement platforms. -\tBackground in data driven systems, event streaming, or real time decisioning integrations. -\tStrong track record of transformational engineering leadership, not just steady state operations.
