Job Description Job Title: Warehouse Associate Job Description The Warehouse Associate accurately picks, packs, and loads products from the distribution center onto delivery trucks using a variety of material handling equipment. This role ensures orders are assembled correctly, products are handled safely, and the facility and equipment remain clean, organized, and in good working condition while adhering to safety standards. Responsibilities • Read customer orders, work orders, or shipping orders to determine items to be picked and loaded for customers., • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets in preparation for loading onto delivery trucks, using scanners and related technology., • Load products onto trucks in a predetermined order to support efficient delivery routes and unloading., • Inspect products during picking and loading to ensure they are not damaged and are arranged to allow for easy sorting and selection upon delivery., • beginning of every shift and accurately complete required log sheets., • Clean the distribution center work area and connect all necessary equipment to charging stations at the end of every shift., • Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, order pickers, stock pickers, dollies, and other warehouse tools safely and efficiently., • Follow OSHA and company safety standards at all times and promptly report any violations or safety concerns to a supervisor., • Handle repetitive, physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting and moving of items weighing 50 pounds or more., • Meet productivity and accuracy expectations while working under deadlines in a fast-paced environment., • Work collaboratively with a small team on second shift to complete daily warehouse and loading operations., • Experience with order picking and assembling customer orders from stock., • Ability to read and interpret customer orders, work orders, and shipping orders., • Proficiency using RF scanners or similar warehouse technology to locate and track inventory., • Hands-on experience with loading and unloading trucks in a distribution or warehouse environment., • Skilled in operating pallet jacks, including electric pallet jacks, for material handling., • Ability to perform repetitive, physically demanding work, including frequently lifting 50 pounds or more., • Comfort working on second shift with varying end times., • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under time-sensitive and productivity-focused conditions., • Strong attention to detail to ensure correct items, quantities, and damage-free product handling., • Commitment to following OSHA and workplace safety standards and procedures., • Experience operating forklifts, including sit-down forklifts, is highly beneficial., • Familiarity with stock pickers, high lifts, wrapping machines, dollies, carts, and two-wheelers., • background in general labor or material handling in a distribution center or warehouse., • Ability to perform basic equipment inspections and accurately complete log sheets., • Capability to stand, walk, reach, handle, and sort items for extended periods., • Ability to occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required by the tasks., • Adequate vision for close work, color identification, and adjusting focus to read labels and screens. Work Environment Work takes place in a secured distribution center environment with moderate to high noise levels and a fast-paced, deadline-driven atmosphere. The role involves repetitive, physically demanding tasks, including frequent standing, walking, reaching, handling, sorting, and loading products, as well as regularly lifting and moving items of 50 pounds or more. You may occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and will need to talk, hear, and visually inspect items and screens, including close and color vision with the ability to adjust focus. The position operates primarily on second shift with varying end times, and you work within small teams of approximately 5 to 10 people depending on the shift. Common equipment includes stock pickers, order pickers, pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, high lifts, two-wheelers, wrapping machines, dollies, carts, and other standard material handling tools. The environment can be stressful at times due to productivity and accuracy expectations, and employees are expected to maintain consistent performance while following all safety procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cheektowaga, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
