Position Overview Type of Position: Travel Description: • Days, some evenings until 7pm EST, • 5x8 hour shifts, • No holiday, call or weekends, • Outpatient center location, • Reviews patient history and physician's orders, • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation, • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s), • Ensures proper imaging techniques related to patients age and ability to understand procedure (sight, hearing needs, ability to cooperate) to ensure image quality is successfully obtained, • Reviews patient information and interpretation of data to confirm an appropriate plan and intervention specific for age related needs and provision of care, • Performs nuclear medicine imaging and therapy in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization, • Primarily adult outpatient procedures (16y/o+), • Various general nuclear medicine exams such as bone scans, Hidascans, thyroid, etc. (will not be conducting nuclear cardiology imaging scans), • Must have experience with conducting Pet CT scans (CT Certification NMTCB- CT required per NYS), • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results, • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure based on radiologist recommendation, • Enters, transmits and reports scan results using Epic, • Orders, prepares, administers, stores and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and applicable regulations/standards, • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status to Nursing for review/escalation as needed, • Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies in the Clinical Nuclear Medicine rooms such as linens, injections supplies, etc., • Maintain high level or professionalism in all interactions including respectfully communicating, maintaining a positive attitude and reporting to all hours as scheduled, • Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with CT Certification and NYS Rad Tech License, • BLS (American Heart Association), • MUST have CT Certification NMTCB- CT or ARRT-CT, • 1 year of experience in Nuclear Medicine required, 2 years of Nuclear Medicine preferred, • PET/CT training and licensure required, but will consider candidates who have not professionally conducted PET/CT scans, • Will consider candidates while they re pending their NYS license must be able to obtain prior to start, • Epic experience preferred, but not required, • 2 years Nuclear Tech, • NYS License, • ARRT Certification w/ CE credits, • BLS Certification Alerion Healthcare Job ID #1752.
