Job Description Nurse Practitioner (Neurology - Movement Disorder) Overview & Highlights Location: Ahwatukee, AZ Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Compensation: $120,000 – $170,000 annually Work Environment: Outpatient neurology clinic serving adult patients with movement disorders Coverage Model or Hours: Structured clinic schedule with protected visit times About the Opportunity / A Day in the Life This is a focused outpatient neurology role centered on caring for patients with movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, tremor, dystonia, and related conditions. You’ll manage a consistent daily patient panel of approximately 12 patients, allowing for thoughtful, in-depth clinical care without the pressure of high-volume throughput. Your day will include a mix of new patient evaluations and follow-up visits, with time built in to thoroughly assess symptoms, adjust treatment plans, and provide education to patients and families. You’ll work closely with a neurology team while maintaining a high level of autonomy in patient management. This setting offers a steady, predictable workflow with a strong emphasis on continuity of care. You’ll have the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients while contributing to meaningful improvements in quality of life for a complex and often underserved patient population. Why This Role Stands Out • Structured patient volume with longer visit times—prioritizes quality over quantity, • Specialized focus in movement disorders with meaningful clinical impact, • Outpatient-only setting with a predictable weekday schedule, • Strong continuity of care and opportunity to build lasting patient relationships, • Collaborative neurology environment with provider autonomy, • No travel requirements and stable, on-site workflow What We’re Looking For • Board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP), • Clinical confidence managing adult patients in an outpatient setting, • Interest or experience in neurology or movement disorders, • Strong communication skills and patient-centered approach, • Ability to work independently within a collaborative team Job Duties & Responsibilities • Conduct comprehensive neurologic evaluations for new and established patients, • Diagnose and manage movement disorders including Parkinson’s disease and tremor, • Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans, • Manage medications, including titration and monitoring for side effects, • Provide patient and caregiver education on disease progression and management, • Coordinate care with neurologists and interdisciplinary team members, • Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently, • Monitor patient outcomes and adjust care plans as needed, • Participate in clinic workflow optimization and care coordination, • Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and quality standards Required Qualifications • Licensed Nurse Practitioner (FNP or ACNP) in Arizona (or ability to obtain), • Board certification as an FNP or ACNP, • DEA license (or ability to obtain), • Experience in neurology, primary care, or a related clinical setting Preferred Background • Experience in neurology or movement disorders, • Prior outpatient clinic experience, • Familiarity with chronic disease management and longitudinal care models, • Comfort with patient education in complex neurologic conditions This Role Is Likely a Fit If You… • Enjoy building long-term relationships with patients, • Prefer a structured, predictable outpatient schedule, • Value spending more time per patient for thorough care, • Have an interest in neurology or subspecialty care, • Thrive in a collaborative but autonomous clinical environment This Role May Not Be a Fit If You… • Prefer high-acuity inpatient or hospital-based care, • Want a fast-paced, high-volume clinical setting, • Are seeking procedural-heavy responsibilities, • Prefer variable scheduling or shift-based work, • Are not interested in chronic disease management or follow-up care Why Join Us This is an opportunity to step into a highly focused neurology role where your time, expertise, and patient relationships are valued.
