Job Description Join Nectar Nectar is on the hunt for an ambitious, curious, and high-performing Assistant Account Executive (AAE) to join our New York or San Francisco-based teams. As an AAE at Nectar, you’ll work alongside seasoned PR professionals, contributing directly to the strategy and execution of client programs from day one. You’ll be accountable, coachable, and encouraged to take creative risks. You’re not afraid of hard work or big ideas. What You Do You’ll play a hands-on role across 3-4 tech-focused client teams, with exposure to some of the most exciting brands in the industry. Your day-to-day might include: • Draft compelling pitches, press releases, media alerts, and award submissions, • Build media and analyst lists that actually convert to coverage, • Create “in the news” reports, trend digests, and editorial calendars, • Track media hits and support overall campaign measurement, • Attend client meetings, capturing key takeaways and next steps, • Manage action items, timelines, and weekly status reports, • Collaborate with account leads to ensure seamless execution, • Research trends, identify storytelling opportunities, and pitch reporters, • Schedule briefings, track coverage, and manage follow-ups, • Support media trainings and help prepare briefing docs, • Draft and schedule social content for Twitter (X), LinkedIn, and more, • Monitor social trends and competitors’ digital activity, • Support brainstorms, build research reports, and contribute to pitch decks, • Participate in internal trainings and team meetings What You Offer • 2+ years of PR or communications experience (agency and/or tech background a plus), • Strong writing, editing, research, and verbal communication skills, • High attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities with grace, • Positive energy, a collaborative spirit, and a willingness to roll up your seeves, • Passion for technology, media, and the evolving communications landscape, • A bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field, • A sense of humor—and the grit to thrive in a fast-paced environment, • Willingness to work 2 days/week from one of our office hubs (San Francisco or New York) Why Nectar • A competitive compensation package, including:, • Annual salary range of $56,000 - $65,000, • 401k with match, • Generous employer contributions toward insurance premiums, • Paid mental health benefits, • Unlimited vacation, • Paid sabbatical after every 4 years of continuous employment, • 11 paid holidays plus a paid end-of-year office closure, • Paid short-term disability and extensive parental leave benefits, • Cell phone reimbursement What We Stand For Nectar Communications is committed to building a workplace rooted in equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
