Job DescriptionJob Title: Mechanical Assembler Job Description This contract-to-hire Mechanical Assembler role offers the opportunity to work full time on first shift in a modern, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. You will perform mechanical assembly of mail automation equipment using hand and power tools, following clear assembly drawings and working both independently and as part of a collaborative team. The position is ideal for dependable, organized, and mechanically inclined individuals seeking long-term career growth in a growing production environment. Responsibilities • Read and interpret assembly drawings to accurately build mechanical assemblies., • Assemble and build mail automation equipment according to specifications and quality standards., • Use a variety of hand and power tools to assemble components and subassemblies., • Recognize and correctly use mechanical parts such as pulleys, bearings, springs, and gears during assembly., • Identify and select appropriate hardware including screws, bolts, nuts, washers, and snap rings., • Work independently on assigned tasks while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail., • Collaborate effectively with team members on larger projects to meet production goals and deadlines., • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency., • Lift up to 40 pounds throughout the day and remain on your feet for the duration of the shift., • Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe, respectful, and team-oriented work environment., • Support overtime and occasional weekend work as needed to meet production demands.Essential Skills, • At least 1 year of mechanical assembly experience in an electronic or mechanical manufacturing environment., • Ability to read and understand assembly drawings and basic blueprints., • Ability to recognize common mechanical parts such as pulleys, bearings, springs, and gears., • Ability to identify standard hardware including screws, bolts, nuts, washers, and snap rings., • Previous experience using hand tools in a production or assembly setting., • Previous experience using power tools for mechanical assembly tasks., • Capability to lift up to 40 pounds repeatedly and stand for the entire shift., • Strong dependability, punctuality, and commitment to a full-time first-shift schedule (Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.)., • Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends when required., • Ability to pass a drug test as part of the hiring process., • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions., • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Mechanical aptitude and interest in working with tools and machinery., • Experience assembling machinery, automation equipment, or similar mechanical systems., • Comfort working from simple, easy-to-read assembly drawings similar to consumer furniture blueprints., • Organized work habits and a diligent, detail-oriented approach., • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a desire to learn and grow within the organization., • Interest in long-term career development, including potential progression into field technician or installation roles., • Flexibility to adapt to changing production needs in a fast-growing environment.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a modern, climate-controlled manufacturing facility with a strong team-oriented culture. You will work on a full-time first shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime and occasional weekend work as production demands increase. The environment focuses on collaboration, clear communication, and mutual support, with an emphasis on reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude. You will use standard mechanical hand tools and power tools to assemble mail automation equipment in a clean, organized production area. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
