Job DescriptionJob Title: Mechanical Assembler Job Description This role produces high-quality components by assembling mechanical parts and subassemblies and integrating electrical wiring into finished products. You will work on an assembly line using a variety of hand and power tools, read mechanical blueprints and assembly diagrams, and ensure that all assemblies meet quality and safety standards in a climate-controlled production environment. Responsibilities • Assemble mechanical parts and subassemblies to produce complete components according to specifications., • Perform electrical wiring tasks at an intermediate level, integrating electrical wires into products accurately and safely., • Use hand tools such as crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, soldering tools, cements, and press-fit tools to assemble and secure parts., • Operate power tools including torque drills, wrenches, and ratchets to complete assembly tasks., • Mount assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets on chassis and panels., • Connect component wires to circuits and route wires between individual component leads to complete electrical connections., • Install finished assemblies or subassemblies into cases, cabinets, or enclosures as required., • Position and align components and parts accurately using measuring tools such as tape measures and other alignment methods., • Use hand tools or machines to assemble, fasten, and adjust parts to meet mechanical and electrical requirements., • Conduct quality control checks on assemblies to verify proper fit, function, and compliance with specifications., • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying parts lists, mechanical blueprints, and assembly diagrams and by gathering required parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials., • Clean and maintain the work area, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe, organized, and efficient production environment., • Support repair or rework activities by identifying issues, disassembling, and reassembling components as needed., • Follow all safety procedures and production guidelines while working on the assembly line.Essential Skills, • Proficiency in mechanical assembly, including working on an assembly line environment., • Intermediate-level experience with electrical wiring and integrating electrical wires into products., • Proficiency using hand tools such as crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, soldering tools, cements, and press-fit tools., • Proficiency using power tools including torque drills, wrenches, and ratchets., • Ability to read and interpret a tape measure accurately., • Experience reading mechanical blueprints and mechanical assembly diagrams., • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools safely and efficiently., • Ability to conduct basic quality control checks on assembled components., • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as part of daily duties.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working in a production or assembly line environment., • Familiarity with torque tools and proper torque application for mechanical fasteners., • Experience mounting and wiring electronic components such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets., • Ability to follow detailed parts lists and work instructions with strong attention to detail., • Comfort working extended shifts, including 10-hour days and weekend work when required.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a climate-controlled production facility designed for comfort and consistent working conditions. You can expect 10-hour shifts and weekend work for the time being, with a typical first shift schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and periods of mandatory 12-hour shifts and weekend work as production demands. The role involves frequent use of hand and power tools, including torque drills, wrenches, ratchets, and measuring tools, as well as working on an assembly line with mechanical and electrical components. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and cleanliness, with regular cleaning and maintenance of tools, equipment, and work areas. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
