Marketing & Sales Associate \n \n IMPORTANT: This is a fully in-person position requiring daily attendance at our East Rutherford, NJ office. Remote and hybrid work are not available. Please apply only if you live within a reasonable commuting distance or can reliably commute Monday through Friday. \n All interviews for this position are conducted in person at our East Rutherford office. \n \n About Cynos Express \n Cynos Express LLC is a multicultural, Asian-owned small business building a portfolio of consumer brands across food, beauty, pet care, home, and lifestyle. Our team brings together people and perspectives from China, Korea, and the U.S. \n We are a small, hands-on company building our marketing and sales infrastructure from the ground up. This is not an established marketing department with large budgets, agencies, specialized teams, or predetermined campaigns. We are looking for someone who is comfortable creating, experimenting, reaching people directly, and figuring out practical ways to build awareness and generate sales with limited resources. \n \n The Role \n We are looking for a hands-on Marketing & Sales Associate to help coordinate and execute content, influencer outreach, marketing, and direct sales activities across multiple consumer brands. \n This is not exclusively a desk-based or digital marketing position. \n On one day, you may be filming social content, contacting influencers, planning a YouTube video, or coordinating a campaign. On another, you may be conducting an outside interview, attending an event, visiting businesses, promoting products in person, or appearing on camera. \n Depending on business needs, the team may also conduct outside promotions, grassroots marketing, local business visits, and door-to-door sales or promotional activities. These activities are generally planned and conducted as a team. \n We need someone who can move between creative work, communication, coordination, and sales—and who takes initiative rather than waiting for every step to be assigned. \n \n Content & Social Media \n Create and coordinate frequent content across multiple brands and social platforms. \n Develop ideas and turn them into posts, videos, interviews, demonstrations, and campaigns. \n Help plan, film, and produce short-form social content. \n Participate both behind and in front of the camera when appropriate, including product demonstrations, interviews, livestreams, YouTube content, and show-host style presentations. \n Help maintain a consistent content pipeline rather than relying only on occasional campaigns. \n \n YouTube & Long-Form Content \n Contribute to longer-form YouTube content by developing concepts, outlining episodes, preparing interview questions, and helping write or organize scripts. \n Help turn raw ideas, interviews, and footage into coherent stories that can hold an audience's attention beyond short-form social media. \n Content may include product development, behind-the-scenes processes, customer experiences, events, founder/team stories, and documentary-style coverage of building our brands. \n Professional filmmaking or advanced editing expertise is not required, but you should understand basic storytelling, structure, pacing, and audience attention. \n \n Influencer & Creator Outreach \n Research and identify influencers and creators who fit each brand. \n Build and maintain creator prospect lists and conduct consistent cold outreach and follow-up. \n Coordinate product seeding, collaborations, creator content, and ongoing relationships. \n Find resourceful ways to reach creators even when significant influencer budgets are not available. \n Influencer outreach is an important part of this position. You must be comfortable initiating contact rather than waiting for opportunities to come to us. \n \n Field Marketing & Direct Sales \n Participate in events, pop-ups, outside interviews, store promotions, community activities, and grassroots marketing. \n Approach and communicate with people you have not met before. \n Conduct outreach to businesses, retailers, organizations, communities, and potential promotional partners. \n Participate with the team in direct sales activities when appropriate, including business visits, in-person product promotion, and door-to-door outreach. \n Introduce products, gather feedback, identify opportunities, and help turn conversations into leads or sales. \n You should be comfortable hearing “no” and moving on to the next opportunity. \n \n Marketing Coordination & Execution \n Work across several consumer brands with different products, audiences, positioning, and priorities. \n Help coordinate team activities and keep multiple projects moving simultaneously. \n Research competitors, trends, creators, retailers, communities, and potential customers. \n Develop and test practical, low-cost ways to generate awareness, engagement, traffic, leads, and sales. \n Track what we try, identify what is working, and help determine what should change. \n We value execution. An idea should eventually become something that is filmed, posted, contacted, tested, promoted, or sold. \n \n Who We’re Looking For \n You have hands-on experience in marketing, sales, content creation, social media, influencer marketing, events, communications, customer-facing work, or a related field. \n We are not looking for experience that exists only in coursework. You should be able to show examples of things you have personally created, promoted, organized, sold, or helped execute. \n You should be: \n • Comfortable initiating conversations with strangers and making cold contacts through email, phone, social media, and in person. \n • Comfortable participating in both marketing and direct sales activities. \n • Comfortable appearing on camera, or genuinely willing to become comfortable doing so. \n • Able to contribute to both short-form content and structured long-form YouTube content. \n • Organized enough to manage content, outreach, deadlines, leads, follow-ups, and multiple projects. \n • Able to work independently without needing every individual step assigned. \n • Resourceful when budgets and resources are limited. \n • Interested in commercial results, not only views, followers, or aesthetics. \n • Comfortable working in an environment where the playbook is still being built. \n We are looking for someone who would rather test an idea, learn from the result, and improve it than spend weeks waiting for perfect conditions. \n \n Creative Adaptability \n Having your own creative perspective is welcome, but you must be able to adapt your approach to the direction of the company and the identity of each brand. \n You will work across brands with different audiences, positioning, and visual identities. We need someone who can understand and execute an established creative direction rather than applying the same personal style to every project. \n You should be comfortable receiving direct creative feedback, revising your work, and changing your approach when necessary. Strong ideas are encouraged, but supporting the direction of the brand is equally important. \n \n This Role May Not Be a Good Fit If \n • You want an exclusively digital or desk-based marketing position. \n • You are strongly uncomfortable with cold outreach, direct sales, appearing on camera, events, or approaching unfamiliar people. \n • You do not want to participate in outside promotional or sales activities. \n • You need a large production or advertising budget before you can execute ideas. \n • You prefer to specialize in only one narrow area of marketing. \n • You prefer to wait for detailed instructions before beginning each task. \n • You are looking primarily for a traditional corporate marketing environment with established processes and highly specialized responsibilities. \n \n Work Samples Required \n Please include examples of relevant work with your application. A formal portfolio is not required. \n Examples may include social media content, short- or long-form videos, campaigns or accounts you helped manage, influencer collaborations, event promotions, sales or outreach projects, or relevant personal projects. \n Please clearly indicate what you personally contributed to each example. \n Applications without relevant work samples or examples of previous work may not be considered. \n \n Position Details \n Position: Marketing & Sales Associate \n Employment Type: Full-time \n Work Arrangement: 100% in-person \n Location: East Rutherford, New Jersey \n Schedule: Monday–Friday \n Starting Salary: From $40,000 per year, depending on experience \n Remote and hybrid work are not available. \n All interviews are conducted in person at our East Rutherford office. We do not conduct virtual interviews for this position. \n Because this role includes filming, events, interviews, outside promotions, and field sales, work outside the office environment is a normal part of the position. Occasional activities may also take place outside the normal office routine.
