Location: New York, NY Location Type: On-site Pay Range: $25 – $28 per hour Employment Type: Full-Time Description Devocion is seeking a skilled and reliable Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our growing Technical Service Department. As America’s freshest specialty coffee provider, Devocion is redefining what it means to deliver quality — not only through fresh roasting, but also through exceptional equipment and facility support for our coffee shops. Devocion is the only roaster in the U.S. roasting fresh green beans just 15–30 days after leaving origin — far faster than traditional roasters. That same commitment to excellence extends to our Technical Service team, ensuring our clients and café partners receive best-in-class equipment performance and support. Overview We are looking for a proactive, hands-on individual to join our team as a Handyman / Maintenance Technician. This role combines general maintenance work with the opportunity to learn how to repair and maintain coffee equipment (espresso machines, grinders, water systems, etc.). If you enjoy working with tools, solving problems, and want to develop specialized technical skills, this position is for you. As a technician, you’ll deepen your knowledge of coffee equipment while helping maintain the quality standards that make Devocion unique. Responsibilities • Perform general repairs (basic electrical, plumbing, painting, etc.), • Conduct preventive maintenance of facilities, • Assist with installation and repair of coffee equipment, • Diagnose issues and propose effective solutions, • Keep tools and work areas organized, • Learn and apply maintenance techniques for coffee machinery Requirements • Previous experience as a handyperson or in general maintenance, • Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems, • Ability to use hand and power tools, • Strong willingness to learn and sense of responsibility, • Driver’s license, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications • Experience with general maintenance projects, • Experience with coffee equipment or similar machinery, • Interest in coffee and its technology, • Experience in commercial or industrial maintenance Physical Requirements • Ability to frequently move around for extended periods of time (8+ hours per day, 5 days per week)., • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs., • Ability to operate store machinery for extended periods of time.     Field Tech Officer (FTO) • Job Title: Field Tech Officer (Level 1 / 2 depending on experience), • Reports To: Technical Operations Lead / Service Manager, • Location: On-site at client premises (and remote when needed) Technical Responsibilities • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, routers, and network devices., • Perform on-site troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network issues., • Install and configure operating systems (Windows/macOS) and common business software., • Manage device replacements, backups, antivirus, and patching., • Document every site visit, ticket resolution, and issue escalation., • Set up and support VoIP phones, surveillance systems, and other peripherals., • Provide basic support for cloud systems (Office 365, Google Workspace)., • Report recurring issues to leadership for root-cause analysis., • Handle emergency calls during business hours (or rotational after-hours if needed). Requirements • 1+ years in IT support or technical field work (desktop/network support), • Working knowledge of basic networking (IP, DNS, DHCP), Windows, and cloud tools, • Willingness to travel between client sites, • Ability to lift and move equipment (~30lbs), • Comfortable using ticketing systems, documentation tools, remote access tools, • Certifications (preferred): CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals Soft Skills • Problem-solver mindset — doesn’t freeze under pressure., • Doesn’t guess — knows when to escalate or double-check., • Treats clients like partners, not a burden., • Self-motivated — doesn’t need micromanagement, • Detailed — writes accurate ticket notes and documentation, • Time aware — knows how to triage onsite tasks under a schedule, • Curious — learns new tools, doesn’t stay stagnant
