Pay Rate: The pay rate for this job is $23 - $25 / hour* What you'll be doing as a Maintenance Mechanic: • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain single-screw extruders, gear pumps, dies and tooling, vacuum sizing/calibration tanks, cooling baths, haul-offs (pullers), laser/ultrasonic gauges, punches/slitters, coilers, and winders, • Maintain emitter insertion equipment, dripper feeders/bowl sorters, and downstream perforation and labeling systems, • Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance (PMs) on extrusion lines, gearboxes, barrels, screws, heaters, thermocouples, and drive systems; document all work in the CMMS, • Diagnose and repair electrical systems up to 480V 3-phase, including motors, VFDs, motor starters, sensors, heater bands, and control wiring; work with PLCs and HMIs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) for basic troubleshooting, • Maintain material handling and blending systems: resin loaders, blenders, dryers, gravimetric feeders, grinders/granulators, and regrind systems, • Maintain plant utilities: chillers, cooling towers, water filtration and recirculation systems, air compressors, dryers, and vacuum pumps, • Perform screw pulls, die changes, and assist with line changeovers and startups; support production during size/product transitions, • Fabricate, machine, and modify parts as needed using welding equipment, lathes, mills, drill presses, and hand/power tools, • Respond promptly to breakdowns on running lines; prioritize repairs to minimize scrap and downtime on continuous processes, • Perform pipefitting, plumbing, hydraulic, and pneumatic system repairs, • Follow and enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, hot work, and all other safety procedures; maintain a clean, organized work area (5S), • Identify recurring failures and recommend reliability improvements, spare parts stocking, and equipment upgrades, • Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and plant expansion projects, • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager Available shifts: Shift Timings: All Available, 1st Shift (Day) , 2nd Shift (Evening) 3rd Shift (Night) & Weekends Job requirements: • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady, • High school diploma or GED, • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; plastics extrusion strongly preferred, • Strong mechanical aptitude: bearings, gearboxes, belts, chains, couplings, alignment, seals, and lubrication, • Working knowledge of industrial electricity (single and 3-phase up to 480V), ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings, • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and water/cooling systems, • Ability to use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, multimeters, megohmmeters), • Basic welding (MIG/TIG/stick) and metal fabrication skills, • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate effectively with production staff, • Ability to work overtime, weekends, on-call rotation, and holiday coverage as required by 24/7 operations, • Experience with plastic pipe, tubing, film, or profile extrusion, • PLC/HMI troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley RSLogix/Studio 5000 or Siemens), • VFD programming and troubleshooting (e.g., PowerFlex, Danfoss, Yaskawa), • Experience with vacuum sizing systems, laser measurement gauges, and gravimetric blending, • Certification in industrial maintenance, electrical, or millwright trades; EPA 608 refrigeration certification a, • CMMS experience (e.g., MaintainX, Fiix, eMaint, Limble), • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus, • Physical Requirements and Work Environment, • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally with assistance, • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working at heights or in confined spaces, • Work around hot equipment (barrel temperatures 300–450°ree;F), molten polymer, rotating machinery, and highvoltage panels, • Exposure to a non-climate-controlled plant environment, noise (hearing protection required), and resin dust, • Must wear required PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel/composite-toe boots, gloves, and heat-resistant gear when applicable, • Background check and drug test required Ready to take control of the way you work?
