American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Springfield, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: OR - Operating Room, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 10/27/2025, • Duration: 16 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours, days, • Work in a 23-room Operating Room department of an acute care Level I trauma center, • Handles a broad range of cases including general surgery, trauma, neurology, orthopedics, plastics, transplant, urology, and bariatric procedures, • Day shifts of 4x10 hours (06:45-17:15) with weekend coverage required 1 time per month, • On-call required approximately once per week, • Floating within the hospital and to affiliate locations may be required as needed, • Cerner charting system is used; Cerner experience preferred, • Scrubs are provided for this role, • Position does not accommodate block scheduling requests, • Must be comfortable floating within scope based on hospital needs, • All requested time off must be manager-approved, with only up to 5 non-holiday days auto-approved; must work 2 of 3 major holidays, • Parking permit for staff is provided at no cost, • Past Memorial permanent or PRN employees must not have worked there in the past 12 months, • Modules are completed virtually during orientation and annually, • A professional, team-centered environment with strong trauma and teaching focus, • Required to demonstrate skills in specimen handling, blood product administration, and complex case management\n \n Requirements\n, • Active IL RN license required prior to consideration, • Minimum of 3 years recent Operating Room RN experience required, • Current BLS certification required; CNOR and CST certifications preferred, • Prior Level I trauma center experience required, • Experience in general, trauma, neuro, ortho, plastic, transplant, urology, and bariatric surgical cases required, • Experience with electrosurgical units, fiber optic equipment, and Hana tables required, • Experience with emergency management, infection control, radiation safety, and universal protocols required, • Applicants must reside at least 50 miles away from the facility, • First-time travelers for this position are not accepted\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
