American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Springfield, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/26/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in the Intermediate Care (IMC) unit of an acute care, Level I trauma Magnet hospital, • General onsite telemetry with a daily census of 38 patients, • Night shift: 3x12 or 4x12-hour shifts (1845-0715), every other weekend required, • Will float to similar units as needed within scope, • Patient population includes post-cardiac and post-surgical cases, renal and neuro patients, • Uses Cerner EMR with prior experience required, • Provide specialized nursing care to a diverse IMC patient population with a focus on cardiac, neuro, and post-surgical care, • Required to perform dysrhythmia interpretation, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, and wound management, • Supportive team environment within a Magnet-recognized and teaching hospital, • Must wear any solid color scrubs, • First-time travelers will be considered, • No call requirements, • Parking permit provided at no cost and issued during orientation, • Candidates should have no more than 5 days of requested time off for consideration, • Local candidates accepted with no distance restrictions\n \n Requirements\n, • Active IL RN license required at time of application, • Minimum 2 years of recent MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience, • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, telemetry (unit and remote), post cardiac interventions, hemodialysis, IV therapy, and wound care, • Ability to manage respiratory equipment including CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, and oxygen delivery devices, • Strong IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including ports, arterial and central lines, and PICC lines, • Experience with neurological, GI, genitourinary, and post-surgical patients, • Cerner EMR experience required, • Experience in a teaching hospital, Level I trauma center, and previous charge experience preferred\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
