This travel nursing opportunity offers hands-on experience in trauma/burn, medical, and cardiac critical care while enjoying life in Springfield, Illinois.\n \n\nJob Details\n\n • Location: Springfield, IL 62781 (Springfield healthcare jobs, Illinois ICU jobs)\n, • Job Type: Travel Contract RN, ICU RN job, Critical Care Nurse position\n, • Setting: Level I Trauma, Acute Care Hospital, Magnet-recognized facility\n, • Unit: ICU (Trauma/Burn focus; medical and cardiac overflow)\n, • Contract Length: 13 weeks\n, • Start Date: May 11, 2026\n, • Shifts: Nights — 3x12-hour (18:45 – 07:15), every other weekend required\n, • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,000 – $2,100 (competitive travel nursing pay)\n, • Hours per Week: 36\n, • On-call: Yes\n, • Floating: Required to other ICUs (Medical, Neuro, Cardiac), IMC, and general floors as needed\n, • Charting: Cerner (experience with Cerner preferred)\n, • Scrub Color: Any solid color\n, • Parking: Free with permit\n\n\nQualifications & Licensure\n\n, • Active Illinois RN license required at time of application (must be eligible to practice in Illinois)\n, • Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience; trauma/burn ICU experience preferred (critical care nurse experience highly valued)\n, • BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross only)\n, • NIHSS, TNCC, and TNS certifications preferred\n, • Experience charting with Cerner electronic health record\n, • Experience working in Level I and II trauma settings required\n, • Ability to float to other ICU units and general floors as business needs dictate\n, • Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment covers a holiday period\n\n\nResponsibilities (ICU RN / Critical Care Nurse)\n\n, • Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult patients in a trauma/burn ICU setting\n, • Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and changes in status using Cerner\n, • Administer medications and blood products and manage advanced life support equipment (ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring)\n, • Respond to rapid response calls, code events, and participate in emergency interventions\n, • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services\n, • Float to Medical, Neuro, Cardiac ICUs, IMC, and general floors as assigned\n, • Maintain infection prevention protocols and adhere to hospital policies and procedures\n GHR Healthcare Job ID #475510.
