Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: OR - Operating Room, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 05/04/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 10 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 4x10hrs, • Hours: 40 hrs/wk, • Start Date: May 4, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Large 23-room OR suite within an acute care, Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated hospital, • Works across all service lines except cardiovascular, including general surgery, trauma, neurology, orthopedics, plastics, transplant, urology, and bariatric, • Schedule is 4x10-hour shifts, 12:45–23:15, • One weekend shift required per month, • On-call required approximately once per week, • Floating within scope of practice is required of all travelers, including to nearby affiliate hospitals, • Block scheduling is not available, • Charting is performed in Cerner, • Scrubs are provided for this role, • Free parking is available on-site with a permit obtained during orientationRequirements, • Active IL RN license required; must be in hand or in active application process, • Active BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted), • CNOR certification preferred, • Minimum 3 years of OR experience required, • Level I trauma center experience required, • General OR and trauma experience required, • Required bariatric experience: laparoscopic assisted cases, • Required general surgery experience: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair (inguinal/umbilical), laparoscopic assisted procedures, mastectomy, thyroidectomy (partial/total), Whipple procedure, • Required neurology experience: cervical fusion, craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, • Required orthopedic experience: arthroscopy, carpal tunnel release, closed and open reduction of fractures, • Required plastic surgery experience: free flap/microvascular procedures, • Required transplant experience: organ donation, • Required urology experience: cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, • Required trauma experience: amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, MVA with multiple injuries, • Required emergency management skills: code response, fire safety, latex allergy protocol, malignant hyperthermia management, • Required equipment experience: electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, Hana tables, • Required professional skills: blood product administration, infection control, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, universal protocol (time out), urinary bladder catheterization, • Cerner EMR experience preferred, • SSN and DOB required for consideration, • Two professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required, • Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required, • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this positionAdditional Information, • First-time travelers are not eligible for this position, • Candidates who have been a permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler, • Travel pairs are not accepted, • Must be prepared to work 2 out of 3 major holidays, • All requested time off must be submitted upfront and is subject to manager review and approval With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
