Springfield is a Midwest hub with welcoming communities, scenic parks, and vibrant local culture—making it a prime destination for Illinois nursing jobs.\n \n\nPCU Registered Nurse Job Details\n\n • Location: Springfield, IL 62781\n, • Unit: MMC6250-6E Medical Cardiac (PCU/IMC/Stepdown)\n, • Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit\n, • Start Date: January 5, 2026\n, • End Date: April 6, 2026\n, • Duration: 13-week travel contract\n, • Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15); 3x12 or 4x12 per week\n, • Hours per Week: 36\n, • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2000 – $2050\n, • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend\n, • Guaranteed Hours: Up to 36 hours may be called off per 13-week assignment\n, • Scrub Color: Any solid color\n, • Charting System: Cerner (Cerner experience required)\n, • Parking: Free parking permit provided\n\n\nPCU RN Job Requirements\n\n, • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in PCU, Stepdown, IMC, Telemetry, or Cardiac Telemetry nursing\n, • Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of application\n, • Certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA or Red Cross only); NIHSS preferred\n, • Proficiency with Cerner electronic charting system\n, • Ability to float to similar clinical units as needed\n, • Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignment\n, • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)\n, • Previous charge nurse, teaching hospital, and Level I Trauma experience preferred\n, • First-time travel nurses accepted\n, • Local Illinois nurses accepted (no radius restrictions)\n\n\nPCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities\n\n, • Deliver high-quality patient care to adults in a busy PCU/Medical Cardiac unit (average daily census: 38)\n, • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage dysrhythmias in a clinical setting\n, • Care for patients post-cardiac procedures (angiogram, MI, cardiac cath, cardiac surgery, sheath removal, TR band)\n, • Manage feeding tubes, pre/post hemodialysis, renal failure, and surgical drains\n, • Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line management, PICC line management, and blood product administration\n, • Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips\n, • Provide respiratory support (chest tubes, CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, oxygen therapy)\n, • Implement isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vac therapy\n, • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, rapid response)\n We believe in empowering your career.
