American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Rochester, New York. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 06/01/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Jun 1, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • ICU setting within a hospital environment, • Patient population includes sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, and ARDS, • 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio on all shifts, • Specialized equipment includes ventilators, balloon pumps, EKOS, Level 1 Rapid Infuser, and EPOC, • Epic EMR experience preferred, • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00), • Every other weekend coverage required, • Floating to Med/Surg (MS) required, • 13-week contractRequirements, • Active NY RN license required (pending licensure not accepted), • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS, • Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience, • Proficiency in phlebotomy and IV placement is mandatory for all RNs at this facility, • Required skills include: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG/ECG, IV insulin protocols, CVVHD/CRRT, arterial line management, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, continuous IV paralytics and sedation, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, CVA/acute stroke management, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ETT/NT suctioning, and infection prevention/PPE, • 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration, • Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for considerationAdditional Information, • Navy and white scrubs required, • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, • RTO requests should be kept to approximately 1 week per assignment; all time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
