Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description The Maintenance Technician installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains production machinery and facility equipment in a clean, food-grade manufacturing environment. This role supports plant reliability and productivity by performing both emergency and scheduled maintenance in alignment with safety, predictive, and preventive maintenance systems to help achieve the site’s operational goals. Responsibilities • Perform highly diversified maintenance duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machines and plant facility equipment., • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs to production equipment during active production, minimizing downtime and supporting continuous operations., • Carry out scheduled maintenance repairs on production equipment during planned machine service windows., • Conduct daily routine maintenance and safety checks, including basic machinist tasks, diagnosing technical problems, replacing or repairing parts, testing equipment, and performing necessary adjustments., • Read and interpret equipment manuals, technical documentation, and work orders to determine required maintenance and service procedures., • Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and identify root causes to restore equipment to safe and efficient operation., • Execute preventive maintenance plans by performing regular inspections and service on machines, equipment, and plant facilities., • Resolve minor plumbing issues and complete basic carpentry tasks as needed to support facility upkeep., • Detect faulty operations, defective materials, and unusual conditions, and promptly report these issues to appropriate supervision., • Comply with all safety regulations and maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas., • Assist in training new hires on equipment, maintenance procedures, and safety practices., • Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize work, coordinate repairs, and support overall plant performance., • Respond calmly and responsibly during equipment-related emergencies, ensuring safe and effective resolution., • Multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while managing multiple maintenance requests and priorities. Essential Skills • 2–3 years of experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment., • Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance in an industrial setting., • Ability to work with 480V electrical systems safely and effectively., • Strong knowledge of hydraulics and hydraulic systems used in industrial machinery., • Industrial maintenance experience, including mechanical, electrical, and facility-related work., • Proficient troubleshooting skills with strong technical aptitude for diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues., • Experience working with plastic injection molding or plastic extrusion equipment is highly beneficial., • Advanced mechanical knowledge of industrial machinery and production equipment., • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations, and ability to apply them in daily work., • Excellent time-management skills to balance emergency repairs, scheduled maintenance, and project work., • Critical and logical thinking abilities to assess issues and determine effective solutions., • Ability to multitask and remain productive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment., • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team., • Ability to remain calm and act responsibly during emergencies or unexpected equipment failures., • Problem-solving skills with a focus on long-term reliability and continuous improvement., • Interpersonal and communication skills to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and trainees., • Communication proficiency in reading, interpreting, and documenting maintenance activities., • Availability to work on any shift (day, night, or overnight) and weekends as needed to support production. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the closure manufacturing industry., • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods across mechanical, electrical, and facility systems., • Knowledge of the closure manufacturing industry is preferred but not required., • Strong team-working mindset and willingness to support colleagues on the production floor., • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and new production lines in a growing facility., • Comfort working in a food-grade manufacturing setting with associated standards and procedures. Work Environment This role is based in an indoor plastic extrusion facility that operates under food-grade manufacturing standards. The work involves regular standing and walking, with frequent verbal communication, and occasional sitting, reaching, and handling small parts and tools. You may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds, and the position requires close and color vision to inspect equipment and materials. The noise level is typical for an industrial manufacturing environment. Work is performed on the production floor around machinery and equipment, with an emphasis on cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety standards. Shift flexibility is required, including the ability to work day, night, or overnight shifts and weekends, as needed to support continuous production. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Peoria, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00/hr.
