Job DescriptionJob Title: Gauge Lab Technician Job Description The Gauge Lab Technician (Level 1) supports the calibration and maintenance of inspection, measuring, and test equipment by performing entry-level gauge lab duties under direct supervision. This role focuses on retrieving and returning gauges, cleaning and preparing them for storage or calibration, maintaining organized gauge storage areas, and assisting higher-level technicians with calibration activities. The technician learns proper calibration procedures, gauge handling, and metrology practices while contributing to the daily operations and overall cleanliness and organization of the Gauge Lab. Responsibilities • Work safely in accordance with all safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)., • Use required PPE for assigned tasks and manage PPE appropriately, including disposing of used PPE in designated work center containers., • Transfer hazardous waste containers to the appropriate hazardous waste storage location following established guidelines., • Retrieve gauges from production areas in accordance with the gauge due list and established schedules., • Clean, inspect, and prepare gauges for storage or shipment to calibration service providers., • Label gauges accurately and maintain organized gauge storage areas to ensure easy identification and retrieval., • Assist with issuing gauges to production personnel and receiving gauges back into the lab., • Enter and maintain basic gauge information in the calibration tracking system, ensuring data accuracy and completeness., • Assist higher-level technicians with calibration activities and other gauge lab tasks as directed., • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Gauge Lab, including workstations, storage areas, and equipment., • Learn and apply proper handling, storage, and care practices for inspection, measuring, and test equipment (IM&TE)., • Follow established calibration procedures, work instructions, and quality standards to support compliance and accuracy., • Perform other related duties as assigned to support gauge lab operations and production needs.Essential Skills, • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English., • Basic computer skills, including data entry into calibration tracking or work order systems., • Ability to learn the proper use, handling, and care of gauges and measuring equipment., • Strong attention to detail when cleaning, labeling, and documenting gauges., • Organizational skills to maintain orderly gauge storage areas and a clean lab environment., • Ability to follow written instructions, standard operating procedures, and work instructions., • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and support higher-level technicians., • High School Diploma or GED required.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in manufacturing, quality, calibration, or a related field is preferred., • Previous experience with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges is helpful but not required., • Familiarity with inspection and measuring practices in an industrial or aviation setting is an advantage., • Understanding of basic metrology concepts and the importance of accurate measurement tools., • Ability to work with work orders and calibration schedules in a structured environment.Why Work Here? The Gauge Lab operates in a structured, safety-focused environment where personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and hazardous materials are handled according to strict procedures. You work with a variety of inspection, measuring, and test equipment, including gauges, calipers, micrometers, and related tools, using computer-based calibration tracking systems and work orders. The facility emphasizes cleanliness and organization, with dedicated gauge storage areas and defined work centers. The broader operation includes multiple plants and teams across global locations, providing exposure to advanced aerospace components and highly engineered products in a professional industrial setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $25.50/hr.
