About the Team: The Reno PI Studio is responsible for the development of entertaining land-based slot machines. The studio is part of Bluberi's R&D department, which includes other development teams in the US and Canada. Our game development team is comprised of enthusiastic and experienced professionals across multiple disciplines including mathematics, visual arts, software engineering, game design, audio engineering and quality assurance. We work in a hybrid model to ensure effective iteration of creative content on target hardware while providing personal flexibility and work efficiency. Job Summary: Under minimal supervision, the Audio Designer III leads the creative audio vision for gaming projects, collaborating with game designers, artists, and programmers to deliver immersive, high-quality sound effects and music. This role involves advanced composition, sound design, and integration, ensuring audio aligns with game themes, mechanics, and market expectations. The Audio Designer III also mentors junior team members and contributes to strategic audio decisions. Essential duties and responsibilities: Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: • Composes, arranges, records, mixes, and master’s music and sound effects at an expert level for multiple game projects., • Defines and drives the audio strategy for projects, ensuring cohesion between music, sound design, and gameplay., • Creates and integrates complex interactive and adaptive audio systems, leveraging advanced middleware and game engines., • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence game design through audio concepts and innovation., • Leads audio planning, estimating timelines, and resource allocation for sound-related deliverables., • Oversee documentation for programmers and ensure accurate implementation of audio sequences., • Conducts advanced testing and optimization of audio assets for player experience and hardware performance., • Implement audio assets in-engine using middleware tools (e.g., Wwise, FMOD, Unreal, Unity)., • Mentors and provides feedback to Audio Designer I and II team members., • Provide feedback and direction on music, dialogue, and external audio contributions., • Sources and directs voice talent, managing recording sessions and post-production., • Researches and applies emerging audio technologies and trends in gaming and casino markets., • Maintains project schedules and ensures timely delivery of audio milestones., • Establishes and maintains an effective communication throughout the production with programmers, graphic artists and the Quality Assurance Department., • Seeks to develop knowledge in the casino game industry and analyzes trends in the market., • Home studio set up a plus but not required., • Bachelor’s degree in music composition, audio engineering, or equivalent experience; advanced studies preferred. Audio training or equivalent, • Professional experience in orchestration/musical arrangement (a plus)., • Excellent knowledge of audio production tools [Pro Tools - Wavelab] or equivalent., • Experience with the main virtual instruments [EastWest, Native Instruments, Omnisphere., • 5+ years of professional experience in audio, computer-assisted music production, mixing and sound editing (in game development, an asset), • Good organizational skills, attention to detail and time management., • Experience with Unity or other gaming tools and devices., • Broad knowledge of musical aesthetics and multicultural musical experience., • Excellent communication skills., • Very good analytical and synthesis skills., • Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects., • Knowledge of management software such as Easy Redmine, Jira or other (a plus);, • Excellent teamwork and adaptability skills., • Mastery of one or more musical instruments., • Experience working in Casino Gaming (required), • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls., • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus., • Ability to lift up to 20lbs. Exempt: Exempt Team members are paid on a salary basis and are not eligible to receive overtime pay. Non-exempt: Non-exempt Team members are paid on an hourly basis and are eligible to receive overtime pay for overtime hours worked.
