Job Description BronxWorks helps individuals and families improve their economic and social well-being. From toddlers to seniors, we feed, shelter, teach, and support our neighbors to build a stronger community. Program staff provide compassionate support, life-enhancing services, and community-based resources to help empower each family. Together, we guide families on their journey back to independence and into permanent housing. RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintenance/Repair • Assistthetechnician and superintendent in any repair, as necessary., • Provide light electrical repairs on appliances, fixtures, switches,outlets,and circuits., • Maintain familiarity with all building systems including location and turning onand off multiple systems., • Perform facility painting aswarranted., • Ensure quality standards by following procedures, includingwork assessment,preparation,andclean up., • Demonstrateabilityto follow OSHAsafety guidelines, includinguseofappropriate PPEand chemicals., • Maintain required inventory on each floor, including gloves, bags, mops,broomsand PPE, • Maintain compliance with DOHMH and Osha guidelines for cleanliness throughout the facility., • During unit turnovers, pack, clean, patch/repair, paint andconductfloor care as needed, to ensure units are ready for new clients., • Sweep, mop, vacuum, empty trash, clean windows, etc. regularly and as necessarythroughout the facilityincluding offices, Recreation and Childcare areas., • Clean all bathrooms, including singlebathrooms,twice a day., • Clean staff kitchen daily, and refrigerator and stove weekly, • Attendingmonthly staffmeetings., • Participate in skills training, andtrainingrelated to allBronxworksstaff, including mandatedreporter, and Osha standards training., • Collaborate with team members and leadership to restore units foroccupancy., • Ability to climb and stand on a 15-foot ladder., • Ability to lift, pull, push and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds., • Ability to stand, walk, crouch or sit for long periods of time., • Ability to climb five flights of stairs., • Ability to bend and retrieve objects., • Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation., • Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather., • ‘TB Test required with the first 120 days of employment’ for Shelters and Homeless outreach" BronxWorks seeks to build an inclusive organization grounded in respect for differences.
