The purpose of supervised visitation is to provide a temporary, supportive framework, with the goal of transitioning parents toward less restrictive or unsupervised visitation. This program offers both traditional supervised visits and coached visitation. While traditional supervision involves monitors observing and documenting all aspects of the visit, coached visitation takes a more interactive and supportive approach. A visit coach collaborates with parents before the visit to plan, intervenes during the visit when necessary, and provides post-visit debriefing sessions with parents—and with children, when appropriate.
