This includes supervising and training lifeguard staff, managing daily pool operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining proper chemical balance and mechanical functionality of all pool systems. The Aquatic Supervisor serves as both a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and Lifeguard Supervisor, ensuring that all aquatic programs and activities are conducted in a safe, professional, and customer-focused manner. Key Responsibilities: Lifeguard & Staff Supervision • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise all lifeguard and aquatic support staff., • Conduct regular in-service training, emergency drills, and skills assessments., • Evaluate staff performance and provide coaching, mentorship, and corrective action as needed., • Ensure proper lifeguard rotation, coverage, and adherence to safety protocols., • Oversee guest interactions to ensure a welcoming and safe environment. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Duties • Monitor and maintain water chemistry (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, etc.) to meet state and local health regulations., • Inspect pool equipment daily, including pumps, filters, and chemical feeders, and coordinate maintenance or repairs., • Maintain accurate records of water tests, maintenance logs, and safety inspections., • Manage chemical inventory and ensure safe storage and handling procedures., • Ensure pool operations comply with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations. Safety & Compliance • Enforce facility policies, rules, and regulations to ensure patron and staff safety., • Maintain certifications for CPO, CPR/AED, and Lifeguard Instructor (if applicable)., • Investigate incidents, document accidents, and implement corrective measures., • Ensure compliance with OSHA and health department standards. Administrative & Leadership • Develop and manage aquatic schedules, staff coverage, and payroll documentation., • Assist in the creation of operational policies, emergency action plans, and risk management protocols., • Support aquatic programs such as swim lessons, special events, and community outreach., • Communicate effectively with management, staff, and patrons to ensure smooth facility operations.Qualifications:, • Required Certifications:, • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) current and in good standing, • American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (or equivalent), • CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid, • Preferred Certifications:, • Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) or Water Safety Instructor (WSI), • First Aid/CPR Instructor Certification, • Experience:, • Minimum 2 years of lifeguard experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role., • Experience managing aquatic facility operations and water quality systems.
