Position Summary The Lead Toddler Teacher works with children ages 14 months to 36 months, creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that supports development through play and intentional teaching. This role is responsible for planning and implementing curriculum, observing and assessing children’s development, and maintaining strong communication with families. Compensation CDA (Infant/Toddler): $17.00 – $18.00 per hour Associate’s Degree in ECE: $19.00 – $20.00 per hour Bachelor’s Degree in ECE or Related Field: $21.00 – $23.00 per hour Compensation is based on education, credentials, and relevant experience. Key Responsibilities Classroom Leadership & Instruction • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum using Creative Curriculum, • Create a structured, engaging classroom environment that promotes learning through play, • Lead small and large group activities Child Development & Assessment • Conduct observations and document children’s progress, • Complete assessments (TSG, ASQ-3, ASQ-SE), • Support children with varying developmental needs, including those with IFSP/IEP goals Care & Supervision • Ensure the safety and active supervision of all children, • Support daily routines including diapering, meals, and transitions, • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment Family Engagement • Communicate daily with families regarding child progress and classroom activities, • Conduct parent-teacher conferences, • Build positive, professional relationships with families Documentation & Compliance • Maintain accurate records including attendance, observations, and reports, • Ensure compliance with DHS regulations and center policies, • Complete required logs and documentation on time Qualifications Minimum Qualifications • CDA Credential (Infant/Toddler) – required, • Experience working with infants/toddlers in a licensed setting, • Strong understanding of child development Preferred Qualifications • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Education, • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, • Experience with Creative Curriculum, TSG, ASQ, or similar tools, • Experience working in Keystone STARS or funded programs, • Bilingual Spanish-speaking is a plus Core Competencies • Patience, nurturing, and strong classroom management skills, • Strong communication and teamwork abilities, • Ability to observe, document, and assess child development, • Commitment to maintaining a safe and engaging learning environment Why Join Children’s Playhouse? • Supportive leadership and team environment, • Structured, high-quality programs, • Opportunities for growth and advancement If you are a dedicated educator who takes pride in your classroom, builds strong relationships with families, and is committed to high-quality early education, we encourage you to apply.
