We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team to assist our attorneys with contacting clients, drafting documents, creating and responding to discovery requests, attend hearings, mediations, and various other duties assigned. This is a full-time IN-OFFICE position at our Deer Park Office. RESPONSIBILITIES • Meet with clients, attorneys and other professionals to discuss assigned cases, • Maintain accurate record of billable hours, • Communicating with clients to gather necessary information and documentation, • Conduct interviews of clients and witnesses and prepare summaries of their statements, • Draft legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, interrogatories, subpoenas, and legal briefs, • Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including gathering and organizing documents, evaluating documents for relevance and privilege, and redacting sensitive information, • E-file pleadings and motions according to local judicial procedures, • Assist attorneys with hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial preparations, • Attend hearings, depositions, mediations and trials when needed, • Act as a liaison between clients and attorneys, scheduling meetings, and ensuring effective communication of information and updates., • Maintaining and organizing client files, • Performs other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS • 2+ years of Texas Family Law experience; preferred, • Experience with Wills, Estates, and Probates; strongly preferred, • ABA-approved paralegal certificate, Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies, or Bachelor's degree desired or currently enrolled in school for Paralegal Studies, • Strong clerical skills with attention-to-detail and accuracy required, • Strong oral and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues., • Excellent organization and time-management skills, • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting, • Proficient with Microsoft Applications, • Proficient with Adobe DC, • Experience with Clio (preferred) Job Type: Full-time Benefits: • 401(k), • 401(k) matching, • Dental insurance, • Free parking, • Health insurance, • Paid sick time, • Paid time off, • Vision insurance
