Associate Attorney 📍 Queens, New York (In-Person Only) We are a boutique personal injury law firm based in Queens, New York, seeking an experienced Litigation Associate to join our practice. Position Overview We are seeking an associate attorney with 2–3+ years of litigation experience who can take ownership of cases and contribute meaningfully with minimal ramp-up time. Personal injury experience is preferred. While personal injury experience is strongly preferred, we are open to candidates with solid previous litigation experience in other practice areas who are familiar with the litigation process and can quickly learn and adapt. This is not an entry-level role. We are seeking an attorney who can step in, take ownership of cases, and operate independently in a hands-on environment. You will work on both plaintiff and defense matters, offering a well-rounded litigation experience, and will work directly with the managing attorney in a small firm setting. Responsibilities • Handle all aspects of personal injury litigation, • Draft, review, and analyze legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and memoranda of law, • Conduct legal research, case analysis, and develop case strategy and theory, • Review and analyze discovery, including identifying key facts and issues, • Manage case files and maintain the organization of litigation materials, • Appear in court for conferences, hearings, and motion arguments, • Participate in settlement conferences and status hearings, • Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, medical providers, and third parties, • Conduct and defend depositions (based on experience) Qualifications • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (required), • Admission to practice law in New York State (required), • Federal court admission (SDNY or EDNY) is a plus, • 2–3+ years of litigation experience required with strong analytical and writing skills; personal injury experience is preferred, • Prior experience handling motion practice and discovery, • Strong legal writing and analytical skills, • Ability to independently review and analyze case files and documents, • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple cases, • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and legal document preparation, • Tech-savvy with familiarity in legal research tools and case management systems, • Consistent and stable work history preferred What We Are Looking For • A self-motivated attorney who can work independently without constant supervision, • Someone who takes ownership of their work and meets deadlines, • Strong critical and analytical thinking skills with the ability to identify key issues in complex case materials, • Analytical, detail-oriented, and solution-focused, • Professional, reliable, and able to handle a fast-paced environment, • Ability to manage competing demands effectively, • Must be able to deliver high-quality results on a timely basis, • Must have proactive time management to ensure successful outcomes for the firm and its clients Why Join Us • Work directly with an experienced trial attorney, • Gain hands-on litigation experience across both plaintiff and defense cases, • Take on meaningful responsibility early in your role, • Opportunity to develop strong litigation and analytical skills, • Collaborative and professional work environment Work Environment • Full-time, in-office position (Queens – Kew Gardens), • No remote or hybrid work available, • Must be able to commute reliably This role is best suited for candidates who are comfortable working in a hands-on, independent environment and do not require extensive supervision.
