Job Description Position Summary: The CQI Specialist supports organization-wide continuous quality improvement efforts by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting program and operational data to drive improvement. This role partners with program, data management, compliance, and frontline staff to strengthen service quality, support CARF accreditation and regulatory compliance, enhance documentation and program practices, and build a culture of learning and accountability. The CQI Specialist plays a key role in implementing Akin’s CQI framework, supporting data integrity, and equipping teams with actionable insights. Essential Functions: • Data Collection, Analysis & Reporting, • Gather, validate, and analyze data from EHRs/CRM systems (Credible, Alchemer, ETO etc.), attendance systems, and operational databases., • Run scheduled and ad-hoc reports to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement., • Produce clear dashboards, visualizations, analysis reports, and summaries for program teams and leadership., • Conduct root-cause analysis and support development of corrective action plans., • Administer and manage surveys using Alchemer, analyze and summarize results, and report findings to support quality improvement, decision-making, and compliance requirements., • Quality Monitoring & Documentation Review, • Perform routine and targeted file/documentation reviews for accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with CQI, Accreditation, and Compliance standards., • Support teams in interpreting documentation requirements and improving data entry practices., • Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including program, administrative, service delivery, and fidelity metrics., • Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement and elevate findings to CQI leadership., • KnowPartner with Compliance on incident management, grievances, critical incidents, and risk tracking as needed., • CQI Systems & Continuous Improvement Processes, • Develop data-driven Quality Improvement Plans in partnership with identified stakeholders., • Facilitate CQI cycles, PDSA cycles, and continuous improvement meetings., • Facilitate process mapping and process improvement meetings., • Support implementation and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflow improvements., • Support CARF on-going accreditation activities and survey preparation., • Support preparation for state reviews, funder audits, and other internal or external reviews., • Monitor adherence to quality improvement plans, self-assessments, and corrective action plans., • Training, Coaching & Capacity Building, • Provide training to staff on data entry standards, quality expectations, documentation requirements, accreditation, and use of quality tools., • Coach staff on interpreting dashboards and using data to inform practice., • Create user-friendly guides, checklists, and training materials to strengthen data quality and CQI processes., • Collaboration & Cross-Department Partnership, • Work closely with Program Leadership, Data & Impact, Compliance, and Administrative teams., • Participate in cross-functional improvement projects related to efficiency, service quality, or system integration., • Support site-level or program-level initiatives aligned with Akin’s strategic plan and ecosystem model. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: -Proficient in MS Office including Excel and other software used by the agency and/or program -Familiarity with or interest in the principles of accessibility, inclusion, and belonging; and experience working successfully with colleagues, clients, or communities from a variety of backgrounds -Demonstrated openness to learning and contributing to an inclusive workplace environment Working Environment: -Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, printers, phones) -Typical office lighting and temperatures -Moderate interruptions -Ability to work in a confined area -Ability to sit at a computer for an extended period Hybrid Work Arrangements: Hybrid work is a benefit of Akin’s flexible workplace but cannot be offered for all positions. Minimum Qualifications: -Bachelor’s degree in social services, public health, data analytics, education, public administration, or related field. -2+ years of experience in quality improvement, data analysis, compliance, or program operations in a human-services, behavioral health, child welfare, or early learning setting. -Experience working with data and survey systems (e.g., Credible, FAMCare, Alchemer, ETO, or similar). -Strong skills in Excel, reporting tools, and interpreting data. -Excellent communication skills, including ability to translate data for non-technical audiences. -Strong organizational, time management, and follow-through skills. Preferred Qualifications: -Master’s degree in a related field. -Familiarity with CARF standards, Washington State licensing, or early learning regulatory frameworks. -Experience facilitating CQI or PDSA cycles. -Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau). -Knowledge of trauma-informed care, early relational health, and family support/early learning programs. SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS: We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive pay, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The target starting pay for this position is $32.28 - $38.74 per hour, typically within the first half of the range. Actual offers will be based on individual qualifications relevant to the role and will not take an applicant’s pay history into account. The range above allows our employees room for growth during their tenure in the position.
