Job Description Job Title: Paint Prepper / Installer Responsibilities • Assist installation, maintenance, and repair workers with maintenance, parts replacement, and repair of vehicles, industrial machinery, and electrical and electronic equipment., • Furnish tools, materials, and supplies to welders, painters, blasters, and other workers as needed to support production., • Clean work areas, machines, tools, equipment, and containers to maintain a safe and organized work environment., • Hold materials or tools for other workers during installation, repair, and finishing tasks., • Examine and test machinery, equipment, components, and parts for defects to help ensure proper functioning., • Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts using hand and power tools as directed., • Install or replace machinery, equipment, and new or replacement parts and instruments using appropriate hand and power tools., • At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing, construction, carpentry, or completion of a technical school training program., • Demonstrated strong work ethic and eagerness to work in a hands-on industrial environment., • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, including grinders, impact guns, and circular saws., • Ability to perform sanding, grinding, and other surface preparation tasks for paint prep and finishing., • Mechanical aptitude for working with machinery, equipment, and fabricated structures., • Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow directions from supervisors., • Reliability in adhering to the work schedule, with strong attendance and openness to overtime when required., • Capability to lift production objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis., • Ability to wear and work in a paint suit and mask for extended periods., • Previous experience in paint prep, industrial painting, or finish and paint work on containers, vehicles, or equipment., • Experience in industrial manufacturing, fabrication, or production environments., • Familiarity with sandblasting, sanding, and other surface conditioning techniques., • Exposure to blueprint reading or working from fabrication and production drawings., • Experience assembling and maintaining physical structures using hand and power tools., • Comfort working under ISO 9001 or other formal quality management systems, including self-inspection of work., • Technical school training in a mechanical, construction, or industrial trade., • Strong attention to detail when locating and correcting surface imperfections prior to painting. Work Environment This role operates in an industrial manufacturing facility that supports welding, painting, blasting, fabrication, and production activities. The primary schedule is 1st shift, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with training provided on the appropriate shift. The environment involves working around industrial machinery, containers, and equipment, using a wide range of hand and power tools such as grinders, impact guns, and circular saws. Team members regularly perform sanding, grinding, paint prep, and cleaning tasks and may work in areas where sandblasting and spray painting occur. Personal protective equipment, including paint suits and masks, is required for certain tasks to ensure safety and proper handling of materials. The facility emphasizes cleanliness and organization of work areas, and the pace is production-oriented, requiring reliability, physical stamina, and comfort working indoors in a busy shop setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pennsauken, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
