Overview: MasTec Civil is hiring a seasoned Construction Project Manager near Jacksonville, FL! The Project Manager bears the full responsibility to oversee that the construction is performed according to specification, in the most efficient manner according to schedule and under budget. For this to happen the Project Manager is expected, among other things, to follow all project related procedures and of most importance, company policy. Responsibilities: • Planning and Scheduling: Make a thorough study of the project to be performed. Discuss your plans, schedules, and details. Roads, Lay Down Areas, Tool Cribs, Insurance & Bonds, Safety & First Aid., • Project Coordination: The Project Manager is the Company’s top representative at the project. Thus, the Project Manager shall attend all progress meetings with the Owner/Engineer and ensure that all required documents are submitted to the Owner in a timely manner. The Project Manager should conduct internal scheduling meetings with the Superintendents, Foremen and Subcontractors on a regular basis in order to properly coordinate work areas, labor, equipment, material and survey needs. In addition, it is expected that Pre-Activity Meetings be conducted prior to significant items of work (ie. Asphalt, concrete deck placements, girder/beam erection, traffic shifts, etc.) to discuss the responsibilities, means & methods (equipment, labor, etc.), MOT requirements, safety aspect, quality control requirements, etc., • Personnel Selection: The Main Office and HR Department will assist you in selecting key members of your management team. Personnel selection for all other project level employees will be your responsibility. The Project Manager should coordinate the projects staffing needs with the Human Resources Department. As the head of the field office, the Project Manager is responsible to ensure that that the company policies are enforced., • The Project Manager is responsible for the supervision of the Project Engineer and other engineer staff. The Project Manager should coordinate with the Project Engineer the hiring of outside Specialty Engineers for items of work that require highly technical analysis. As part of the management of the engineering staff, the Project Manager should serve as a mentor to young engineers assigned to the project., • Contract Documents: Familiarize yourself with your contract, specifications, plans, addendums, revisions, special provisions, permits, utility relocation schedules, etc. Know what is required for each item of work and how you get paid for the same. Be aware of any situation that entitles you to extra pay or warrants documentation for the initiation of a possible claim., • Project Manager must review and approve all invoices, subcontractor payments and timesheets prior to processing at the Main Office. Study each cost report in detail and note all variances in costs from estimates., • Cost Control: The Project Manager is responsible for the project’s budget and discuss with the Estimator all variances noted. The Project Manager shall understand the pay item estimate work sheets and communicate the information to the supervisors. Evaluate the cost effectiveness of the procedures in place and replace all those that are deemed ineffective. Take all necessary measures to avoid unplanned occurrences that mighty increase cost, such as accidents and injuries, equipment abuse, etc. Ensure that change orders and/or claims are properly documented, prepared and submitted to the Owner in a timely manner. Review and approve all budget changes and cost transfers. The Project Manager shall provide a monthly Project Status Report to accompany the monthly cost report. The Project Manager shall ensure that the monthly cost reports are reflective of the actual field performance. Cost reports shall have accurate quantities and projections., • Subcontractor/ Vendor Management: The Project Manager is responsible for the negotiations of subcontractors and vendors. Ensure that all subcontractors and vendors are paid in a timely manner in accordance with subcontract requirements and internal company procedures. Manage the subcontractor and vendor claims, change orders and disputes., • Documentation: Proper documentation is essential for the benefit of the Project and the Company. Ensure that all project team members (Superintendents, Engineers, Subcontractors) are submitting their required documentations (ie. Daily reports, accident reports, T&M Sheets, etc.). The Project Manager shall keep a detailed daily Diary of the project. Ensure that project photos and meeting minutes are being taken and filed accordingly. The Project Manager shall notify the client should a project record (ie meeting minutes) are inaccurate and/or incomplete., • Public Relations: The Project Manager is our top official on any project and therefore handles most negotiations, at least in the preliminary stages. Your integrity and performance of these duties reflect on our entire company, therefore, you are expected to conduct yourself in an honest, congenial, businesslike manner whereby your actions would be respected by your peers and the general business community., • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the heavy construction industry. You will be responsible for analyzing sketches / drawings, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing innovative solutions that align with the project objectives. The Process Designer will work in both office and field environments. This role will require working in various industrial settings, including construction sites, manufacturing plants, and other operational facilities. Duties/Responsibilities: • Utilize 3D Scanner to scan existing equipment., • Assist in creating preliminary process equipment / general arrangement layouts in 2D AutoCAD., • Develop project models in 3D utilizing Revit and other 3D support software to include importing OEM models, creating families, routing of utility piping, product piping, conduit, cable tray, supports for equipment and piping., • Assist engineers with P&ID or process flow diagram (PFD) drawings as needed., • Assist in developing process installation drawings & packages utilizing 3D model., • Review of OEM 2D drawings & 3D model submittals for conformance to layout, validate clearances and access requirements, conforms to applicable specifications, and coordinate changes with OEM’s and Client., • Coordinate with project team during design and construction phases., • Travel as required to Owner facilities to learn and gather information about existing processes, equipment, and utilities., • Travel as required to job sites to support installation by collaborating with Stellar site staff, OEM’s, and installation subcontractors., • Updating drawings with record data., • Follow all drawing and modeling standards., • Participating in internal process improvement efforts., • Other duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:, • Proficiency with process design software, AutoCAD 2D, Revit or other 3D software., • Exposer and / or skilled in relevant software; Microsoft Office Software, Procore, Bluebeam, Adobe, Power BI and BIM / ACC., • Ability to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements., • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams., • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, including interpersonal skills., • Innovative thinking and the ability to develop creative solutions., • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills., • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines., • Familiarity with industry regulations, and standards including safety., • Flexibility to work in different environments and adapt to changing project requirements.Education/Experience:, • Minimum of an Associates 2-year degree in drafting, 3D modeling, or related field technical experience in construction trade., • Minimum of 1 – 5 years of experience in process design or a similar role. Job DescriptionJob Duties and Responsibilities: The CSET shall provide management support to the FEAD/ROICC for construction services such as construction inspection, quality assurance, monitoring ESS compliance and contract administration. The construction work includes repair, demolition, and new construction that the office executes for various commands and tenants on the installation. Work will encompass all trades that are typical for repair, demolition, and new construction projects. Specific workload will be identified upon arrival. • Coordinate request from the construction Contractor for outage requests, excavation permits, burn permits, haul routes and other similar items., • Attend Meetings and Conferences. The CSET shall take notes, provide information to the FEAD/ROICC or the FEAD/ROICC’s representative at meetings, conferences, and briefings. Includes: Preconstruction Conference, Safety Meetings, Contractor Quality Control (CQC) Meetings, Partnering Meetings., • Provide Construction Briefings and Reports., • Provide review of submittals designated for Government approval., • Provide construction schedule review/analysis and notes/comments/recommendations on: Progress Schedules and Network Diagrams, Contractor’s Safety Plan, and CQC Plan., • Monitor construction work for project CQC compliance with the contract and Contractor submitted plans., • Prepare Construction Representative’s Reports (CRRs) and Contract Construction Compliance Notices (CCCNs)., • Report instances of non-compliance with safety requirements., • Monitor compliance with environmental protection requirements; monitor measurements and assurance surveying; monitor materials testing, • Witness testing of waste, gas, water, electrical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, fire protection, elevator, boiler, and energy monitoring control systems., • Review Daily Contractor Quality Control (CQC) and Contractor Production Reports (CPRs); monitor the updating of Submittal Status Logs; and other required documentation., • Work with the CSET and FEAD/ROICC personnel to complete, together with the construction Contractor’s representative, the field pay estimate worksheet for the construction contract., • Notify FEAD/ROICC Leadership of disagreements, discrepancies, or major problems., • Assist conducting pre-final inspections., • Provide advice for modification negotiations., • NAVFAC’s Electronic Construction and Facility Support Contract Management System (eCMS) shall be used to manage electronic submittals and documents., • Prepare an independent construction cost estimate for modifications to construction contracts; prepare, for each modification cost estimate, a narrative assessment of the impact of the proposed change on the construction Contractor’s operations., • Provide Construction Photographic and Record Drawing Services., • Perform Constructability Review Services; perform spot checks for completeness and accuracy of the construction plans and specifications and to determine the constructability of the facility at the beginning and duration of each Phase of Construction., • Requests for Information (RFI) management.Qualifications and Skills:, • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Construction Manager, Field Engineer, Project Engineer or Quality Control Manager on commercial/industrial type facilities, utility or waterfront related contracts valued in excess of $5 million., • Construction technical competencies and qualifications to verify that a specific level of workmanship was obtained., • Knowledge of construction scheduling methods and familiarity with the use of scheduling software, including but not limited to Primavera Suretrak/P3/P6 and Microsoft Project., • Proficiency in using computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Adobe Acrobat Professional; and RS Means/CostWorks., • Average agility and dexterity. Experience in preparing correspondence, written reports, and in briefing management personnel., • Experience in developing and maintaining complex, long term, multi-year program construction management activities including submittal and Request for Information (RFI) processing., • Experience and familiarity with Federal building design criteria and construction guide specifications., • Knowledge of construction practices and techniques, e.g., proper applications of construction materials and methods of installation., • Ability to accurately calculate construction costs for changes, price the value of needed work, and provide recommendations for equitable adjustments., • Ability to monitor the preparation of as-built activities of contractors to ensure that those documents are being prepared on an on-going basis.
