SMC is actively seeking a Senior BIM Coordinator to lead modeling, documentation, and coordination efforts for mission critical projects. This role includes both production and administrative responsibilities, including oversight of BIM workflows, model health, project BIM execution, and the maintenance/enforcement of company standards. Typical project types may include greenfield and brownfield data centers, tenant fit-outs for hyperscale and enterprise clients, campus planning, conceptual design phases, and construction coordination. This candidate will work with a high degree of independence, serve as a technical resource for project teams, support BIM standards development, and mentor junior coordinators. The BIM scope will integrate across all engineering disciplines and interface with external consultants such as architectural, civil, and structural teams. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of taking ownership of BIM delivery across multiple projects simultaneously. Responsibilities: This candidate will lead BIM execution on multiple projects while coordinating with clients, project managers, and discipline leads. They should be capable of managing deadlines, guiding BIM strategy, and ensuring models are maintained to SMC and client standards. • Serve as the primary BIM point of contact for assigned projects., • Lead model setup, coordination workflows, and model maintenance throughout the project lifecycle., • Collaborate with internal discipline teams and external consultants to ensure coordinated, clash-free models., • Create, interpret and implement BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), client standards, and project requirements., • Oversee project templates, view strategies, sheets, families, and model organization., • Develop and manage complex Revit models for mission critical facilities., • Oversee the accuracy and completeness of drawing sets., • Perform advanced model troubleshooting, cleanup, and optimization., • Participate in the development, improvement, and enforcement of BIM standards and workflows., • Administer Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) project environments (permissions, folder setups, publishing workflows, etc.)., • Support Navisworks coordination meetings, clash detection workflows, and reporting., • Assist in evaluating and onboarding new BIM tools, plugins, and processes., • Support junior BIM staff through guidance, training, and quality checks., • Provide internal coaching on Revit best practices, model hygiene, and efficient workflows., • Work closely with design leads to ensure BIM strategy aligns with engineering requirements., • Use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams as part of daily communication and documentation., • Meet project deadlines, including working necessary hours to complete major deliverables., • Travel to project sites and meetings when needed (less than 10%)., • Maintain excellent communication skills in both written and verbal formats., • 7+ years of Revit production experience in an engineering, architecture, or construction environment (mission critical or MEP experience preferred)., • Strong understanding of multidisciplinary coordination workflows., • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit required; experience with ACC and Navisworks strongly preferred., • Demonstrated ability to manage BIM tasks independently and mentor junior staff., • Experience creating and maintaining BIM standards, templates, and families is a plus., • Familiarity with construction documentation and model-to-field workflows., • Experience working in a consulting engineering environment is preferred. Base Compensation: $75,000–$225,000 (Actual compensation varies based on education, experience, skills, and/or location.)
