Job DescriptionObstetrics and Gynecology - Physician Position Overview The Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician is responsible for delivering comprehensive care to patients in both outpatient and hospital environments. This includes managing labor, conducting deliveries, performing surgeries, and mentoring residents. The role requires participation in a flexible on-call schedule and collaboration within a combined university and community hospital framework. A strong focus is placed on patient-centered care, ongoing professional growth, and fostering a supportive workplace culture. We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Full-Time Physician to join our OBGYN team located on the 15th Floor of Washington Square. The selected candidate will provide care for OB & GYN patients in our outpatient facility at 800 Walnut Street, while all surgical procedures and on-call duties will be conducted at the nearby Pennsylvania Hospital, recognized as the first hospital in the nation. Pennsylvania Hospital is equipped with a Level III NICU, private patient rooms, and handles over 5,000 deliveries each year. The labor and delivery unit is staffed with at least two attending physicians, a midwife, a complete team of residents, and in-house anesthesia support. Call responsibilities are shared with three other OBGYN groups at Washington Square, allowing for a flexible schedule that averages three calls per month, with no more than one weekend shift required. Physicians can choose between 12- or 24-hour shifts without additional call obligations. Attending physicians will also have the opportunity to educate OBGYN residents in both inpatient settings and at the Ludmir Center for Women’s Health. This hybrid model of a university and community hospital is ideal for those who enjoy teaching residents and medical students without the pressures of academic research. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care in the office, during labor and delivery, and in the operating room., • Provide coverage for the labor floor at Pennsylvania Hospital while on call., • Offer personalized and individualized care to patients. Applicants must be Board Eligible or Certified in OBGYN and hold (or be eligible for) licensure and a DEA in Pennsylvania.
