Job DescriptionJob Title: Bakery AssociateJob Description The Bakery Associate supports day-shift production in a fast-paced, high-volume bakery and food manufacturing environment. This entry-level role focuses on producing, packaging, and staging baked goods while strictly following food safety, sanitation, and quality standards. The position requires prior experience in production, food manufacturing, warehouse, or similar environments and involves working with bakery equipment, performing repetitive tasks, and collaborating with a team to meet daily production goals. Responsibilities • Assist in the production of baked goods by preparing, packaging, labeling, and staging finished products for distribution., • Follow recipes, batch instructions, and production schedules to ensure product consistency, efficiency, and quality., • Work with and around bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, and packaging lines in a safe and efficient manner., • Perform quality checks on products to verify proper weight, labeling accuracy, and overall appearance before release., • Maintain a clean, organized work area by following sanitation procedures and food safety standards at all times., • Load ingredients, materials, and packaging supplies onto production lines as needed to support continuous operations., • Follow all safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and company procedures throughout the shift., • Carry out cleaning and sanitation tasks on equipment and workstations as required by production and food safety protocols., • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet or exceed daily production and quality goals., • Communicate effectively with coworkers and leads to report issues, follow instructions, and support smooth production flow.Essential Skills, • 6 months to 1 year of experience in production, food manufacturing, warehouse, or a similar environment., • Comfort working in fast-paced, high-volume production or bakery settings., • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and hygiene practices., • Ability to follow instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and recipes accurately., • Experience with packaging, labeling, sanitation, or general production work., • Familiarity with food safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)., • Ability to stand for 10–12 hours per shift and perform repetitive tasks., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly during the shift., • Comfort working in varying temperature environments, including warm and cooler areas., • Reliable attendance with a strong team-oriented mindset., • Strong attention to detail with a focus on product quality and consistency., • Ability to work early morning shifts, overtime, and flexible schedules as needed., • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team., • Strong communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions., • Reliable transportation and a consistent attendance history.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Previous experience in bakery, food production, or manufacturing environments preferred., • Experience working around or operating basic production equipment is a plus., • Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, or other food safety regulations is strongly preferred., • Experience with cleaning, sanitation, and maintaining a hygienic work environment., • Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced production setting.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a fast-paced, high-volume bakery production environment on a busy production floor with continuous machine and line activity. Work involves constant standing, walking, and repetitive movement throughout the shift, including lifting and handling ingredients and packaging materials. Employees work in varying temperature conditions, such as warm areas near ovens and cooler storage or staging areas. The environment is highly team-oriented with a strong focus on safety, product quality, and meeting production goals. Strict sanitation and GMP requirements apply, and employees must be comfortable working in a regulated food manufacturing setting where cleanliness, hygiene, and adherence to procedures are essential. Dress typically includes appropriate production-floor attire such as closed-toe shoes and any required protective equipment provided in accordance with food safety and safety guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
