Job DescriptionHIRING!!!!!!! $19-20/HR - General Production Worker Job Description The General Production Worker supports daily operations in a metal roofing and siding manufacturing shop by operating machinery, handling materials, and assisting on the production line. This role involves frequent use of hand and power tools, precise measurement equipment, and a forklift to ensure products are manufactured, packaged, and shipped safely, accurately, and on time in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Responsibilities • Operate production machinery such as shear, press brake, and roll forming machines in a safe and efficient manner., • Assist with running and monitoring the production line, including banding, wrapping, and packaging metal roofing and siding products., • Use a forklift to load and unload materials into and out of trucks, conveyors, racks, and pallets., • Handle and move raw materials and finished products throughout the facility to support production and shipping activities., • Use tape measures, micron meters, and protractors to take accurate measurements and verify product specifications., • Operate hand and power tools, including skill saws and nail guns, for cutting, assembling, and preparing materials., • Meet daily and weekly production goals and quotas while maintaining quality and safety standards., • Perform shipping and material handling duties, including staging orders and preparing loads for trucks when needed., • Scan, verify, and accurately interpret documents used to stage orders or load trucks, ensuring correct items and quantities., • Complete basic data entry for filling orders, creating labels, and updating production or shipping information., • Work flexibly across different departments and workstations within the shop, learning and supporting various machine operations and tasks., • Follow all safety procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment, and help maintain a clean, organized work area., • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, take direction, and contribute to a cooperative team environment., • Experience working in a high-volume production or manufacturing environment (2+ years preferred)., • Proven forklift experience and ability to safely operate a forklift for loading, unloading, and material handling., • Hands-on physical labor background with comfort performing strenuous tasks and frequently lifting up to 50 lbs., • Experience using power tools in a construction or similar setting, including skill saws and nail guns., • Ability to accurately read and use tape measures, micron meters, and protractors for precise measurements., • Experience working to production deadlines and quotas in a fast-paced environment., • Ability to scan, verify, and interpret documents related to staging orders and loading trucks., • Basic data entry skills for order filling, label creation, and production documentation., • Willingness and ability to learn all areas of the shop and work wherever needed., • Strong reliability, self-drive, and initiative in day-to-day work., • Prior experience with machine operation, including press, shear, and roll forming equipment., • background in construction or similar trades that involve measuring, cutting, and assembling materials., • Experience with shipping and material handling duties in a warehouse or manufacturing environment., • Comfort working in loud, busy industrial settings with changing priorities and tasks. Work Environment This role is based in a metal roofing machine shop with approximately 15–20 employees, offering a close-knit, collaborative environment. The shop is very clean and organized, with work performed both indoors and outdoors in the yard at times. The facility can be loud due to machinery, and ear plugs are required; raised voices are common to communicate over the noise. The shop door remains open, so temperatures can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, and employees should be comfortable working in varying conditions. The position involves regular use of industrial equipment and tools, including shear, press brake, roll forming machines, forklifts, tape measures, micron meters, protractors, skill saws, and nail guns, in a physically demanding, fast-paced production setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SPOKANE, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $20.50/hr.
