Group Overview Aerospace Engineering Group (AERO) is responsible for developing and delivering Metrea’s aviation engineering and integration capabilities, focusing on aircraft modification, system integration, and technical project management. AERO takes mission requirements and transforms them into operational assets by designing, engineering, and integrating new systems and technologies. The group manages aviation project lifecycles, from concept to testing, ensuring aircraft modifications meet performance, safety, and airworthiness standards. With a unified structure, AERO leverages its engineering expertise and project management capabilities to enhance Metrea’s aviation fleet, supporting a range of specialized operations through innovation and technical excellence. Position Summary The Aircraft Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance performed on aircraft, engines, appliances, and accessories is accomplished in accordance with approved aircraft technical data, company programs, contract requirements and FAA regulations to maintain continuous state of airworthiness. This role requires a minimum of three years of experience working on Metrea aircraft types and operates within the technician’s maintenance training and experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of applicable maintenance manuals and procedures relevant to their assigned fleet. Inspectors ensure that safety is the first consideration in quality control and maintenance departments. Role and Responsibilities • Accomplish aircraft inspections in accordance with FAA regulations, OEM manuals, company standards, applicable maintenance program specifications, procedures and criteria to detect and document discrepancies or non-airworthy conditions., • Ensure that receiving inspections of incoming parts, components, equipment supplies, and materials is completed in accordance with the repair station manuals., • Perform required inspections on items listed in technical/company manuals., • Monitors workmanship and materials to verify that the company and FAA rules, regulations and standards are complied with., • Ensure that aircraft modifications or component changes follow maintenance manual procedures or approved technical data procedures., • Ensure that aircraft inspection items (RII) are completed and documented properly and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) have been received, reviewed, and approved prior to any aircraft modification action., • Assist in the classification of repairs and alterations in relation to Major or Minor repairs and prepare appropriate documentation., • Review all maintenance entries in the aircraft maintenance records, initiating procedural error notices as necessary to correct incomplete or deficient paperwork., • Conduct routine and unscheduled audits of repair station operations and facilities as assigned., • Education: High School Diploma or GED, • Experience: 5+ years of Aircraft Structures Experience and advanced knowledge of Aircraft Systems, • Preferred Certifications and Licenses: A&P Certificate, • Prefer 3+ years of aircraft modification experience, • Computer Skills: Basic Computer Skills Additional Eligibility Qualifications Proficient in Maintenance Technical Publications, Structural Inspection and Repair Manual, AMOS, and Veryon / FlightDocs for aircraft maintenance tracking, documentation, and compliance. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time non-exempt position with typical working hours from Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager. The role may require standing, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Inspectors must adhere to strict safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
