About the Role The Program Manager is the operational backbone of New Mom School Philadelphia. This role supports class scheduling, client communication, visiting-expert coordination, marketing, sales, and day-to-day studio operations. Job Description Program Summary MCC’s MOMobile Healthy Babies program provides Case Managers (Advocates) to work with infants exposed to substances prenatally in Philadelphia, Montgomery, Chester, and Bucks Counties and in select areas in Delaware County (i.e. Yeadon and Upper Darby) through the baby’s first year of life. The program provides assessments, support and resources to baby, mother and/or caregiver(s) to build a healthy foundation for the family. MCC Advocates will support families with substance use, behavioral health and overall wellness needs. Healthy Babies partners with NICUs, recovery programs, and health systems where there is a high prevalence of infants exposed to opiates and/or diagnosed with NAS. Position Summary The Case Manager (Advocate) is responsible for providing culturally sensitive one-on-one health and parenting education. Responsible for monitoring and case-management to infants recovering from Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) and exposed prenatally to opiates or other substances. Case management will also be provided to mothers with Substance Use Disorders or other caregiver when baby is in kinship or foster care. Intervention includes assessment, referrals, follow-up, and other needed supportive services while in the hospital or in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and following discharge. Job Description: The Shoshana is seeking postpartum doulas/newborn care specialists to provide non-medical support to new parents and their families during the postpartum period, often referred to as the "fourth trimester." Postpartum doulas/newborn care specialists play a crucial role in supporting families during the early stages of parenthood, ensuring the well-being of both the newborn and the parents. Key Responsibilities: • Emotional Support: Offering emotional support and reassurance to new parents, helping them navigate the challenges of the postpartum period., • Physical Comfort: Assisting with physical recovery after childbirth, including providing opportunities for rest and personal care., • Infant Care: Demonstrating newborn care techniques, such as feeding, diapering, and soothing the baby., • Informational Support: Providing evidence-based information on infant care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery., • Advocacy: Acting as an advocate for the new parents, helping them communicate with healthcare providers and access necessary resources., • Household Organization: Assisting with light household duties around the guest’s room to allow parents to focus on their recovery and bonding with the baby., • Sibling Support: Helping older siblings adjust to the new family dynamics and providing care if needed., • Training: Completion of a postpartum doula training program and certification. Certification in lactation or breastfeeding consultation required., • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in newborn care, lactation support, or a related field. Nursing experience in antepartum/postpartum or labor & delivery preferred., • Skills: Strong communication, empathy, and organizational skills., • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn health., • Personality: Positive attitude, compassionate, patient, and nurturing demeanor.
