Job Description Job Title: Electrical Engineer – Analog/Digital Circuits & Lab Test Support Job Description This role offers the opportunity to work in an Agile, multidisciplinary engineering environment, contributing to the research, design, development, modification, and evaluation of complex systems and their components, equipment, subsystems, and networks. You will play a hands-on role in the lab, supporting testing and integration activities while collaborating closely with other engineering disciplines and program personnel to deliver high-quality, cutting-edge solutions. Responsibilities • Collaborate in an Agile environment with systems, electrical, and other engineering disciplines to support the full lifecycle of complex systems and subsystems., • Perform engineering research, design, development, modification, and evaluation of system components, equipment, subsystems, and networks., • Conduct trade studies to compare design options and recommend optimal technical solutions., • Perform dynamic analyses to assess system performance and behavior under various operating conditions., • Allocate, decompose, and trace requirements to system, subsystem, and component levels to ensure full coverage and compliance., • Develop and implement algorithms to support system functionality and performance objectives., • Author detailed test procedures to verify and validate system and subsystem requirements., • Execute integration and test activities in the lab, including setup, operation, and monitoring of test configurations., • Verify that systems and components meet specified requirements through structured test and evaluation., • Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve defects, anomalies, and performance issues., • Troubleshoot analog and digital circuits using appropriate test equipment and engineering methods., • Interface with vendors and customers to clarify technical requirements, discuss design approaches, and resolve issues., • Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines to ensure cohesive system integration and high-quality product delivery., • Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, function generators, digital multimeters, and related tools during test and troubleshooting activities., • Support both new development and legacy upgrade efforts by integrating modern technologies into existing systems. Essential Skills • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)., • Experience working with analog and digital circuits, including design, analysis, or troubleshooting., • Hands-on testing and troubleshooting skills in a laboratory environment., • Familiarity with common laboratory engineering tools, including logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, digital multimeters, and related support equipment., • Ability to conduct integration and testing activities on complex systems and subsystems., • Capability to perform requirements allocation, tracing, and verification., • Experience or comfort working in an Agile engineering environment., • Ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve technical defects., • Eligibility for, or possession of, an active U.S. security clearance (Secret or higher) or the ability to obtain an interim clearance, as required for access to secured areas and programs. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience conducting trade studies to evaluate alternative technical solutions., • Familiarity with dynamic analysis of systems and components., • Exposure to algorithm development for system control, processing, or analysis., • Experience authoring formal test procedures and test documentation, • in integration testing for complex systems, subsystems, or networks., • Experience using tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and related test instruments for detailed signal and system analysis., • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and customers., • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills., • Interest in working on both new development and legacy upgrade programs in a high-technology environment. Work Environment This is a full-time, long-term consulting opportunity based onsite at a large engineering campus in the Syracuse, NY area. The site includes extensive secured areas and supports approximately 1,600 employees, with more than 700 professionals in engineering. The Systems Engineering organization includes around 180 people, structured into specialized groups such as Requirements, System Integration, System Test, and Special Systems, and spans multiple business lines. You will work closely with a systems team made up of several groups across diverse programs, including both cutting-edge new development and legacy system upgrade efforts. The work schedule follows a 9/80 format with relatively flexible hours, and a four-day workweek option (with Fridays off) is available for those who prefer it, while still allowing the flexibility to work Fridays if desired. The role is lab-focused and hands-on, using modern test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, function generators, and digital multimeters. The environment emphasizes collaboration, continuous learning, and exposure to advanced technologies, offering the chance to work alongside highly skilled engineers on impactful, technically challenging programs. A standard professional dress code appropriate for an engineering lab and office setting is expected. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Liverpool, NY.
