Job Description Primary Job Title: QA Technician Alternate/Related Job Titles: Quality Assurance Technician Quality Control Technician Medical Device QA Technician Quality Systems Technician Validation Technician Location: Sylmar, CA, United States Onsite Flexibility: Onsite Contract Details (Contract roles only): * Position Type: Contract * Contract Duration: 6 Months * Start: As Soon As Possible * Pay Rate: $28.52/hr Job Summary: The QA Technician performs complex analytical electrical and mechanical testing to determine failure mechanisms on products returned from the field. This role supports quality systems, regulatory compliance, and process control activities within a regulated medical device environment while collaborating across cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: • Perform more complex analytical tests (electrical and mechanical) required for troubleshooting to component level to determine failure mechanism on product returned from the field for analysis., • Document nonconformances as appropriate., • Monitor and/or calibrate and maintain all test equipment and fixtures., • Initiate related documentation changes., • Perform Process Control & Monitoring of critical-to-quality parameters and specifications., • Collect data, summarize, and document test results., • Work with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), microscope, and diagnostic/test equipment such as oscilloscope, signal generators, and multi-meters., • Assist with the selection, installation, and programming of precision measuring equipment., • Create and maintain control plans for products and processes., • Assist in writing, executing, and documenting equipment, product, process, and test method verifications, qualifications, and validations., • Support Company initiatives in alignment with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and regulatory requirements., • Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, ISO 13485, company policies, and operating procedures., • Maintain positive and cooperative communication with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors., • Perform advanced inspections, review device history records, support nonconformance investigations, and ensure compliance with FDA 21 CFR 820 and company quality standards.Required Experience:, • Minimum 2 years of experience; 2–4 years preferred., • Experience assisting with validations & qualifications, Gage R&R, calibration, test methods, and NCMR dispositioning., • Knowledge of Quality Systems, FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and applicable worldwide regulatory requirements., • Experience with optical measurement equipment, hand tools, gages, pressure and force gage testing, and fixture design., • Training in blueprint reading and experience with sampling techniques., • Good communication and computer skills, including data analysis and report writing., • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment., • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines with strong organizational and follow-up skills., • Microscope experience (10–20% of workday).Nice-to-Have Experience:, • Prior medical device experience., • ASQ CQT certification or equivalent., • Experience with Class II or Class III medical devices., • Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment., • Associate's degree, technical training, or additional technical certification.Required Skills:, • Electrical and electronic troubleshooting, • Quality systems and regulatory compliance, • Analytical testing and failure analysisPreferred Skills:, • ISO 13485 knowledge, • FDA 21 CFR 820 compliance, • Gage R&R and calibration, • Optical and precision measurement toolsAdditional Skills:, • Process control & monitoring, • Control plan development, • Equipment validation and qualification, • Nonconformance investigations, • Blueprint reading, • Sampling techniques, • Microsoft Office Suite, • Cross-functional collaborationBenefits:, • Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans About GTT: GTT is a minority-owned staffing firm and a subsidiary of Chenega Corporation, a Native American-owned company in Alaska.
