REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: This position reports to the Deputy Director, Loan Closing Administration and works closely with the Lending Production, the Credit, and the Finance and Operations teams. JOB SUMMARY: The Loan Closing Administrator (LCA) leads LIIF’s internal real estate loan closings and serves as the primary liaison with outside counsel and project lenders. The LCA ensures accurate, compliant closing of predevelopment, acquisition, construction, and permanent loans for affordable housing, childcare, charter schools, and other community facilities. This role requires expertise in real estate law and loan documentation (mortgages, notes, deeds, leases, guarantees), oversight of off-balance sheet fund closings, and management of administrative and compliance activities. The LCA also ensures smooth transition of closed loans to Asset Management and Loan Servicing, working collaboratively across teams and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Loan Closing Administration – 55% • Review draft and final loan documents to ensure compliance with LIIF’s Lending Manual and approved deal terms as outlined in the Credit Memo. The LCA must be confident in raising discrepancies with lending management., • Lead due diligence activities including UCC, OFAC, title, environmental, seismic, insurance, and third-party reports, • Liaise with legal counsel, Loan Officers, and borrowers to ensure all closing conditions are met., • Perform pre-closing tasks, including:, • Ordering appraisals and third-party reports., • Reviewing preliminary title reports and final settlement statements, surfacing for management any discrepancies or issues., • Securing UCC filings and performing searches (OFAC, tax lien, judgment)., • Verifying insurance compliance and loan closing conditions., • Proactively monitor and track critical dates, deadlines and deliverables in complex real estate transactions., • Seek and elevate opportunities for internal process improvements, • Perform loan data review and create service records in loan systems (nCino, LMS)., • Coordinate and represent LIIF on transaction closing calls with borrowers and counsel and other related parties., • Lead internal pre and post-closing meetings and prepare welcome letters for sponsors., • Partner with Asset Management to provide critical review of internally or externally prepared loan extensions or modifications, ensuring that approved terms are translated accurately into loan documentation and , further, that they comply with LIIF Lending Policies., • Ensure all documentation aligns with approval and is complete., • Coordinate fund advances for loan closing., • Keep Loan Officers and Directors informed of progress, delays, or concerns., • Regularly interact and communicate with clients, internal and outside counsel, lenders, and operations staff to foster strong relationships, ensure all parties to close remain informed and improve client satisfaction., • Maintain strong collaborative relationships with external and internal stakeholders., • Assist with implementation and testing of loan systems, lending program administration, procedural updates, and sale/participation of loans as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, real estate, urban planning, or a related field., • 5 to 7 years of experience in loan closing, escrow, loan administration, or a related function within commercial real estate, community development finance, or banking., • In depth knowledge of real estate transactions and loan documentation, title processes and lien law, UCC filings and closing compliance procedures., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), with strong ability to organize and track large volumes of documents and data., • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when managing legal documents, compliance checklists, and data entry into systems., • Excellent project coordination and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities., • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with internal staff, borrowers, title companies, legal counsel, and third-party consultants., • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working with loan origination or servicing systems such as Salesforce, nCino, or a Loan Management System (LMS)., • Familiarity with affordable housing, charter school, childcare, or health facility lending., • Experience closing commercial real estate or construction loans., • Understanding of community development finance, including mission-driven lending practices. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: LIIF offers a hybrid work environment with flexibility to balance in-office and remote work. However, all employees are expected to work on-site at least two (2) days per week.
