Job Description Superintendent – Capital Improvement & Renovation Projects (Luxury Hotels) Location: Northern New Jersey (Travel Across NY and the East Coast) Employment Type: Full-Time | Day and Night Shifts Required Salary: $110,000 – $150,000 + Travel Allowances (Hotels, Meals, etc.) Benefits: Medical Coverage Provided About Our Client Our client is a well-established and highly respected General Contractor based in Northern New Jersey. The firm specializes in capital improvement and renovation projects for luxury hotels and commercial properties throughout New York and the East Coast. As the company continues to grow, it is seeking experienced Superintendents at multiple levels to oversee ongoing and upcoming projects in high-end hospitality environments. Position Overview The Superintendent will be responsible for managing field operations from start to finish, ensuring that all construction activities are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality. This role requires a hands-on, vocal leader who is comfortable managing both union and non-union subcontractors while maintaining strong communication with clients, architects, and project teams. This is a traveling position that will require extended stays at project sites along the East Coast. Key Responsibilities • Oversee all day-to-day field operations for luxury hotel and commercial renovation projects., • Maintain strict safety compliance and site organization in alignment with company and OSHA standards., • Familiar with NYC inspection and special inspection processes (DOB, SCA, etc.)., • Able to read and understand plans, drawings, and specifications., • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and vendors on site., • Manage both day and night shifts, ensuring seamless project progress across work hours., • Conduct project meetings and provide consistent communication with Project Managers and ownership teams., • Uphold strong client-facing communication and represent the company with professionalism., • Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and field documentation., • Travel as needed to various project sites across the East Coast., • Physically able to carry up to 50 pounds as needed and navigate active job sites, including stairs, ladders, and uneven terrain. Required Qualifications • 5+ years of Superintendent experience, preferably within hotel, commercial, or capital improvement renovation projects., • OSH0 30-Hour Certification required., • Vocal and confident leadership style, comfortable directing both union and non-union subcontractors., • Excellent communication and writing skills., • Strong computer and documentation skills (comfortable with email, PDF management, digital reporting, etc.)., • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications (Not Required, But Highly Valued) • Tech-savvy: Familiar with Procore, Smartsheet, OpenSpace, or similar platforms; able to manage electronic files and retrieve communications efficiently., • Bilingual (English/Spanish) – highly beneficial for communication with diverse crews., • Prior experience managing luxury hospitality renovation or commercial interior projects.
