Essential Job Functions: • Manages the entire loan closing process and ensures new loans, extensions and modifications are closed as outlined in the credit approval., • Works with the Relationship Manager to ensure policy, legal, compliance and regulatory matters necessary for closing are addressed early in the process., • Administers several deals at a time all in different stages, multiple states, and ranges of complexity., • Reviews the Term Sheet and incoming good faith deposit then engages the appropriate closing attorney to represent the bank., • Compares the Approval Document to the draft loan documentation and provides recommendations to the RM and closing attorney regarding any discrepancies prior to documents being released to client as well as reviews all subsequent changes., • Ensures customer negotiated loan document items, when appropriate are vetted through Credit Risk Management and approvals are obtained and saved., • Organizes the SharePoint file ensuring all items are present and in the correct sub folders., • Responsible for maintaining the Deal Checklist and having regular meetings with the RM and closing attorney to collaborate on the status of remaining items, timing of transactions, and prioritizing the workload., • Reviews that all required third-party reports and due diligence items are received (Appraisal, Environmental, Property Condition, Insurance, Zoning, Flood, Survey, Title, Rent Roll, etc.)., • Communicate undertaking and escrow requirements for repairs or deliverables from third-party report findings to the closing attorney for inclusion in loan documentation. Ensure appropriate Credit Risk Management approvals are obtained and saved., • Confirms with the Account Executive group that KYC and CIP are complete and required accounts are open. At closing directs the required deposits and after closing obtains confirmation that the appropriate holds have been placed., • Prepares the Fee Schedule tabulating all invoices and selecting the appropriate interest rate and calculating short interest. Requests amortization schedules, tax escrow and insurance escrow figures to be forwarded for closing., • Populates the Booking Approval Memo and ACH form., • Works closely with the loan servicing group to make sure they have what is needed in the SharePoint folder before funding and confirming timing expectations can be met., • Ensures the Closing Calendar is updated regularly in real-time as updates occur., • Reviews the Disbursement Letter with settlement statement and coordinates the wire release for funding., • Communicates with the closing attorney to ensure the loan closing and settlement has been completed., • Proactively resolves post-closing issues and/or documentation deficiencies with the closing attorney and RM if necessary., • Cross-trains other Closing Associates., • High school diploma or equivalent. Essential Job Functions: • Transaction Underwriting, • Lead the independent underwriting and credit analysis of new lending transactions across technology, healthcare, and sponsor-backed middle market borrowers., • Evaluate borrower financial performance, operating trends, and projections to assess cash flow generation, leverage capacity, liquidity, and debt service ability., • Perform detailed financial modeling including:, • EBITDA normalization and quality of earnings analysis, • leverage and liquidity analysis, • free cash flow generation, • downside stress testing., • Assess technology and healthcare business models, including recurring revenue structures, customer concentration, reimbursement frameworks, regulatory considerations, and competitive positioning., • Underwrite private equity-sponsored transactions, including platform financings and add-on / tuck-in acquisitions, evaluating sponsor support, integration risk, and post-transaction leverage., • Structure credit facilities including:, • revolving credit facilities, • term loans, • acquisition facilities, • delayed draw term loans., • Identify key credit risks and structure appropriate financial covenants, collateral support, reporting requirements, and structural mitigants., • Prepare term sheets, prescreen memos, and comprehensive credit approval memoranda summarizing borrower performance, transaction structure, industry outlook, risk considerations, and recommended credit terms., • Present transactions to credit committees and senior credit officers as required., • Portfolio Credit Oversight, • Monitor the credit performance of assigned borrowers within the technology, healthcare, and sponsor finance portfolio., • Review borrower financial statements, covenant compliance certificates, and operating metrics to assess performance relative to underwriting expectations., • Evaluate the impact of acquisitions, add-on strategies, and changes in capital structure on borrower credit profile., • Identify emerging risks and recommend appropriate actions including risk rating changes, amendments, waivers, or restructuring strategies where necessary., • Participate in periodic portfolio reviews and credit risk discussions with senior credit leadership., • Collaboration and Professional Contribution, • Partner with Relationship Managers teams to evaluate prospective lending opportunities., • Provide guidance regarding credit structure, leverage tolerance, covenant frameworks, and credit risk considerations during early-stage transaction discussions., • Participate in borrower management meetings, lender presentations, and sponsor diligence discussions as appropriate., • Support the development of the bank’s technology, healthcare, and sponsor finance lending platform through disciplined credit structuring and thoughtful risk assessment., • Credit Governance & Risk Management, • Ensure credit underwriting and approval processes comply with the bank’s credit policies, regulatory guidance, and risk management standards., • Coordinate with legal counsel and internal teams regarding loan documentation and closing conditions., • Maintain complete and well-documented credit files supporting underwriting decisions., • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline. An MBA and/or CFA, CRC a plus., • 5–10 years of commercial banking or sponsor finance credit underwriting experience, preferably within middle market lending., • Demonstrated experience underwriting cash flow-based lending transactions., • Experience evaluating private equity sponsor-backed borrowers and acquisition financings, including add-on or tuck-in strategies., • Familiarity with technology and healthcare sectors, including SaaS revenue models, technology-enabled services, and healthcare services providers., • Strong financial modeling skills and ability to evaluate leverage capacity, liquidity profiles, and downside scenarios., • Experience structuring financial covenants, collateral packages, and credit protections., • Excellent written communication skills with ability to prepare clear and concise credit memoranda., • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment., • Strong analytical judgment and ability to work collaboratively with origination, risk, and credit leadership. Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this role is between $130,000.00 – $150,000.00. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferrable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.
