Job Description Job Title: Junior Dental Billing Lead Reports to: Senior Dental Billing & Credentialing Team Lead Supervises: N/A Position Summary: The Jr. Dental Billing Lead will play a key role in the dental billing department by handling core billing responsibilities while also assisting in leadership and mentorship of new staff members. This position will focus on ensuring accurate and timely billing processes, enhancing revenue collection efforts, and supporting the Senior Dental Biller in training and quality control. The role also involves taking on smaller billing tasks, all while working within the framework of the Medbill systems and tools. This role involves providing crucial support to the Senior Dental Lead by creating, managing, and overseeing comprehensive training programs aimed at strengthening the knowledge and performance of the dental billing team. Key Performance Areas & Key Performance Indicators: RCM Training Development (20%): • Assist in creating training on the entire dental billing process when needed, • Emphasize accurate data collection for billing, • Teach efficient methods of insurance verification, • Train on correct use of CDT codes, • Ensure error-free and complaints claim submissions, • Educate on handling and resubmitting denied claims, • Optimize collection processes for better revenue recovery System Expertise & Claim Rates (20%): • Ensure accurate coding and pre-submit claims for review, • Assist in ensuring the team is proficient in using the Office PMS for billing, reporting, and workflow, • Assist in ensuring claims are accurately coded to minimize rejections and denials, • Analyze and resubmit denied claims promptly, • Submit claims quickly and follow up on delayed payments, • Send reminders and offer payment plans to patients, • Post all payments on next business day, • Conduct training on privacy laws and billing practices to avoid errors on fraud, • Assist in tracking key metrics to improve team performance, • Monitor claim accuracy, denial rates, and collections, • Provide feedback for improvement, • Provide ongoing coaching to support team members Education: • Minimum of 2-3 years in Dental Billing, • Strong knowledge of dental coding, CDT codes, insurance verification, claims submission, and denial management, • Strong analytical skills to identify issues and guide others in a professional setting, • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex billing concepts to new team members Operations Knowledge – Thoroughly understands the operational procedures for his/her position and how they affect or relate to other departments in the company. Serves as an expert for others. Product Knowledge – Has a broad knowledge of the products and services offered. Is aware of the features and pricing of the products and services they support. Is able to recommend the appropriate product or service that will meet the customer’s needs. Compliance Knowledge – Extensive understanding of general and department-specific regulations. Serves as a compliance resource for the team. Sales & Service – Guides the team to achieve goals while ensuring excellent customer service.
