Job DescriptionSeasonal Pop-Up Associate In-Person | Seasonal / Part-Time / Temporary Position Overview The Seasonal Pop-Up Associate supports on-site food distribution events, helping ensure safe, efficient, and welcoming pop-up operations for community members. This role is ideal for someone who is dependable, people-oriented, and motivated by community impact. Associates play a key role in event setup, food handling, and direct engagement with individuals receiving food. Please note: Hours for this role are offered on an as-needed basis, typically totaling 5–15 hours per month. About Sharing Excess Sharing Excess is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing food waste and feeding local communities. Each week, we divert over 2 million pounds of fresh food from landfills and redistribute it to people experiencing food insecurity. To date, we’ve rescued more than 200 million pounds of food, with a special focus on Philadelphia—our home city—while expanding our impact nationwide. Responsibilities • Assist with the setup, execution, and breakdown of pop-up food distribution events, • Support safe food handling, sorting, packing, and distribution in accordance with food safety standards, • Greet and assist community members in a respectful, welcoming, and inclusive manner, • Help manage crowd flow to maintain organized and efficient distribution lines, • Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and partner organizations on site, • Communicate on-site needs, concerns, or incidents to the event lead or supervisor, • Represent Sharing Excess’ mission, values, and professionalism during all community-facing eventsRequirements, • Access to reliable transportation to and from events across the greater Philadelphia area (no gas reimbursement), • Ability to lift, carry, and move food boxes and supplies repeatedly (up to 50 lbs), • Ability to stand for extended periods of time (2–4 hours), • Comfort supporting in-person, community-facing engagement, • Weekend availability for shifts up to 4 hoursSchedule, • Seasonal role running March through August, • Applicants are encouraged to apply even if unable to support the full season, • Shifts generally occur between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, lasting 2–4 hours, • Associates may support up to three events per week, or as few as one event every other week, TBD based on business needs, • Hours vary based on distribution schedule and operational needsCompensation Powered by JazzHR 4b4TxuOGS5

Job Description ABOUT US Barclay Farm Swim Club is a Members Only swim club located in Cherry Hill New Jersey. During our summer season beyond meeting the needs of our members, we also host a summer camp for children aged Kindergarten to 11 years old. If this sounds good to you so far, keep reading... We are seeking responsible young adults to be Lifeguards for the 2026 swimming season. Our address is located inside the Barclay Farm neighborhood at 315 Whitemarsh Way, Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08034. Barclay Farm Swim Club is a seasonal outdoor swimming facility that boasts a high dive, a 12ft Well deep end, lap lanes, baby pool (not the responsibility of the lifeguards), snack bar, courts for playing and plenty of grass for running. Guards need to be comfortable supervising children and adults in water 4ft to 12ft, as well as supervising the surrounding pool deck. While it is the responsibility of the lifeguard to supervise the safety of the campers near and in the water, the campers are also supervised by camp counselors. RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise swimming activities and ensure that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed. Warn swimmers of improper activities or behavior. Administer basic First Aid, CPR and/ or rescues in the event of injury, distress or danger of drowning. Evaluate conditions and initiate aquatic emergency action plan as needed. Inspect pool area, equipment and rescue apparatus to ensure that they are safe and usable. Empty skimmer baskets, vacuum pool and skim pool surface. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the facility (cleaning the office and bathrooms, collecting and removing trash and recycling). Evaluate a swimmer’s ability to succeed in the band test. Supervise and operate the front desk. Effectively communicate with members (children and adults), campers, camp counselors, swim coaches, camp director, co-workers, and manager. Be a positive role model. QUALIFICATIONS American Red Cross Lifeguarding/CPR/AED/First Aid w/ Deep Water for Professional Rescuer Certification (). Age 15+. Excellent communication skills. Can sit for an extended period of time. Can actively scan the pool area for an extended period of time. Can lift and/ or help move objects that have some weight to them. INFO/ KEY DATES Lifeguards are needed for PM swim team practice M-TH from after Memorial weekend to the end of school. Lifeguards are needed for AM swim team practice M-F from end of school until mid August. Lifeguards are needed early AM on 3-4 Saturdays for swim team meets (7:30am). We host Pasta Parties for the Swim Team on Friday Nights. We host themed activities and birthday parties for members throughout the season. Pre Memorial Weekend: Complete employment paperwork, mandatory 2hr paid training. Memorial Weekend (May 23rd): Pool opens for members. Post Memorial Weekend > End of School Year: The pool is only open Monday - Thursday PM for swim team practice 5pm - 7pm (2 lifeguards are scheduled). The pool is open for members Friday evening through Sunday evening. End of School Year > September 7th*: The pool is open for members everyday from 12pm to 8/9pm weather permitting. Summer Camp runs Monday - Friday until 4pm. The pool will be busy with kids from 12pm - 3:30ish during the week. PAY AND SCHEDULING Starting pay is at least $16 hour. Automatic increase in pay for returning guards. Typically 4 > 5 hour shifts. Guards rotate positions every 20 minutes (guard > guard > office).
