Location: Crawfordville, FL (with travel across the Southeast U.S.) Job Type: Full-Time Salary: $60,000 – $80,000/year (DOE) + benefits and performance bonuses Openings: 2 Positions Available About Us Attack-One Fire Management Services, Inc. is a veteran-owned small business specializing in wildland fire suppression, prescribed burns, fuel reduction, and habitat restoration. As demand for fire management services grows, we’re expanding our team and seeking Certified Prescribed Burn Managers to lead operations, manage teams, and drive revenue through government and private contracts. Key Responsibilities * Plan, coordinate, and lead prescribed burns on private and public lands, ensuring compliance with Florida Statutes Ch. 590 and authorization requirements from the Florida Forest Service * Conduct site assessments, develop burn plans, and evaluate fire effects for fuel reduction and mulching operations * Supervise burn teams (4–6 members), prioritizing safety and compliance with NWCG standards * Support wildfire suppression efforts in collaboration with the Florida Forest Service and partner agencies * Maintain equipment, landowner contact databases, and geospatial data for quarterly reporting * Participate in workshops, outreach, and partnerships (e.g., Longleaf Alliance, Florida Wildlife Commission) to expand burning opportunities * Contribute to revenue growth by bidding on contracts, developing partnerships, and supporting client relations * Assist with grant reporting, fire council support, and other duties as assigned Requirements * Certification (one of the following required): * Florida Certified Prescribed Burn Manager (CPBM) certification via FDACS/Florida Forest Service (40-hour course; S-130/S-190 recommended) * NWCG Prescribed Fire Burn Boss Type 2 (RXB2) qualification, including FIRB, ICT4, and completion of RXB2 Position Task Book (PMS 311-74) * Minimum 3 years of prescribed fire management experience with strong knowledge of Southeastern fire ecology and restoration techniques * Ability to operate ATVs, chainsaws, and portable pumps safely under Florida fuel reduction and wildfire regulations * Valid driver’s license with acceptable record; CDL Class A/B a plus * Physical fitness meeting NWCG moderate arduous standards (2-mile walk with 25-lb pack ≤30 min) * Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; proficiency with record-keeping and reporting systems * Willingness to work long or irregular hours in variable outdoor conditions Benefits * Health, dental, and vision insurance * 401(k) retirement plan * Paid training and certification reimbursements * Performance bonuses tied to contract wins * Housing and per diem provided on all deployments * Veteran-friendly, team-focused environment Company DescriptionAttack-One Fire Management Services, Inc., a veteran-owned small business specializing in wildland fire suppression, prescribed burns, fuel reduction, and habitat restoration, is expanding to meet growing demand.
