Job DescriptionCivil Engineer - Utility Construction Location : Bee Cave, Texas (Austin, TX) OR Cypress, TX (Houston) Onsite 3 days a week in office The Role: We are seeking an exceptionally talented candidate with proven Civil Engineer experience to join our client's growing company. This position will report to the Vice President of Construction. The primary responsibilities include supporting the design, planning, and execution of natural water and gas utility construction projects across Texas. The Civil Engineer will provide engineering expertise in technical analysis, design development, permitting, and field inspections, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and quality standards. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, a team player, have a positive attitude, and the ability to manage various competing priorities. Day to Day Responsibilities: Design & Technical Support • Prepare engineering drawings, site layouts, and construction plans for water and gas utility systems, including pipelines, storage facilities, and gas mains., • Perform engineering calculations for water and natural gas systems (hydraulic flow, pipe sizing, pressures, load capacities, and system demands)., • Review and interpret survey data, soil reports, and utility maps to support design decisions., • Prepare technical reports, meeting notes, and project status updates for leadership., • Other duties as assigned.Project Coordination, • Develop and assist in managing schedules, budgets, and scopes of work., • Support permit applications, regulatory filings, and submittals., • Provide engineering support on projects involving conflicts with existing gas facilities, developing solutions and mitigation plans., • Coordinate with developers, contractors, project managers, and engineers to ensure timely delivery of design information and resolve technical conflicts., • Other duties as assigned.Field Support, • Conduct site visits, inspections, and construction observation to verify compliance with plans and specifications., • Document field conditions, test results, change orders, and as-built information., • Support and enforce quality control and safety compliance on active job sites., • Maintain accurate project files, calculations, and engineering records., • Other duties as assigned.Physical Requirements, • Frequent standing, walking, and site inspections on uneven terrain., • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., • Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots., • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around active construction sites.Qualifications, • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field (required)., • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas (required)., • Minimum 5 years of experience in water, sewer, wastewater, or gas utility, land development, or municipal infrastructure., • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and utility infrastructure design., • Experience evaluating utility service availability, cost estimating, and managing construction-related changes., • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com) a plus., • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and regulatory documents., • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills., • Valid Texas driver's license with ability to travel up to 20% within the state.Benefits:, • Health, dental, and vision with competitive employer contribution, • Supplemental coverage, • Voluntary life insuranceWork Life Balance, • Paid Time Off, • 80 Hours of Sick Time, • 11 paid holidays and 2 floating holidays, • 3 weeks paid parental leave, • Monday and Friday work remote / Tuesday-Thursday in office (subject to change at management's discretion)Financial, • 401K with matching and enhanced contribution, • 15% discount through Employee Stock Purchase Program, • Up to $6,000 a year in tuition reimbursementPay Details: $140,000.00 to $160,000.00 per year Search managed by: Kaleb Kirkpatrick Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Military connected talent encouraged to apply To read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable: • The California Fair Chance Act, • Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance, • Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers, • San Francisco Fair Chance OrdinanceMassachusetts Candidates Only: It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment.
