Job DescriptionASSET PROTECTION SUPERVISOR Position Overview: • Oversees the Asset Protection and Security Team, Under the direct supervision of the Sr. Compliance, Risk & Safety manager with input from the V.P. of Corporate Compliance Human Resource., • Preforms Safety inspections, • Instructs on accident prevention techniques and assists in accident investigations., • Handles worker’s compensation and general liability video backup and investigations., • Develops and teaches the company asset prevention programs and initiatives., • Plans and directs organizational efforts to prevent and minimize the loss of assets., • Develop, evaluate, and monitor loss-prevention systems at all store locations, off-site facilities, ADC locations, and Transportation. Exemplary Duties / Responsibilities: • Safeguard company property, including donated goods., • Reports and takes appropriate action on any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of company property., • Provides leadership necessary to maintain a safe working environment throughout the company., • Acts safely at all times., • Follows all safety rules and regulations., • Manages the human resources and physical assets within the area(s) of responsibility by effectively and efficiently planning, organizing, prioritizing, problem-solving, leading, motivating, coaching, training, and disciplining., • Promotes and demonstrates cooperation and teamwork., • Assists and shares knowledge and information with other employees as needed., • Uses good interpersonal skills such as courteousness, sensitivity, politeness, and thoughtfulness., • Sets a good example for service participants receiving training at Goodwill and for all employees., • Responsible for the security of the company’s property, and the safety of employees and service participants through sound security practices and procedures., • Ensures compliance with established controls and operational procedures of asset protection and safety awareness., • Develops and initiates company-wide asset-protection and loss-control activities., • Reviews building design, layout, and physical safeguards from an asset-protection standpoint., • Provides planning and recommendations for perimeter controls, entrance, and exit controls, CCTV needs, and fixturing that impact loss prevention, internal and external., • Establishes specifications, evaluates competitive bids as applicable, and ensures compliance with standards and contract terms for loss-prevention equipment., • Administers and directs all company investigative efforts including field investigation and undercover operations., • Identifies subsequent corrective actions designed to reduce risk., • Responsible for store loss-prevention planning, coordination, and follow-through including employee/staff security and safety, and merchandise loss prevention., • Identifies causes and provides solutions for store shrinkage, shoplifting, employee theft, and geographical crime activity., • Establishes requirements for in-house and/or contract guard services., • Responsible for monitoring and ensuring proper security and fire alarm system maintenance., • Controls staff security code access systems and key issuance., • Ensures company property is not removed without proper approvals., • Maintains appropriate inspection tours of the buildings and grounds to watch for and guard against fire, theft, illegal entry, infractions of safety regulations, and other irregularities., • Serves as a member of the Safety Committee., • Develops departmental goals and budgets, provide required reports and data., • Drives on company business as required., • Performs other duties as assigned. Employment Standards: Education/Experience: • High School education minimum, Bachelor of Arts Degree preferred., • Five years’ experience in security, loss prevention, and investigative services; five years supervisory experience., • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision; flexible and adaptable in handling security matters 24 hours, 7 days a week. Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of current laws relating to security issues as they affect employers/employees, service participants, customers, contractors, and others who have contact with or do business with the organization. Licenses: • Valid CA Driver’s License: liability insurance, and a DMV printout that is acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance company.
