Job Description: We are seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations and technical personnel responsible for rail car production and maintenance. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will serve as the critical link between management objectives and shop floor execution, ensuring production targets, safety standards, and quality expectations are consistently achieved. Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements. Key Responsibilities: • Plan, organize, and direct daily production activities to meet customer delivery schedules and operational goals, • Coordinate workflow, staffing, and resources to ensure efficient production execution, • Supervise clerical and technical personnel on assigned shift, assigning tasks and providing hands-on coaching and support, • Provide on-the-job training, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members, • Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards, • Ensure strict compliance with company and customer safety procedures and policies, • Control labor hours and staffing levels to minimize overtime and support site budget objectives, • Identify production bottlenecks and implement workflow improvements to increase efficiency, • Prepare daily production reports and maintain accurate records of personnel hours and operational progress, • Communicate effectively with management, team members, and customer representatives regarding production status, • Coordinate vendor activities during assigned shift to ensure work meets warranty obligations and quality standards, • Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment while promoting continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications & Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in production, manufacturing, quality, or engineering environments, or 3+ years of technical experience with leadership responsibilities, • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing or industrial processes, • Ability to read and interpret measurements using both English and Metric systems, • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams, • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, • Experience with manufacturing software such as SAP, ERP systems, or similar platforms preferred, • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word, • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills, • Ability to work in an active rail car manufacturing environment, • Must be able to climb ladders, work on elevated platforms, and lift or pull up to 40 lbs, • Commitment to maintaining high safety, quality, and performance standards Equal Opportunity Statement: USPRO is an equal opportunity employer and will consider all applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, disability and/or other protected categories.
