Job Description PRODUCT MANAGER (Temporary-to-Hire, Remote)About the position HealthBegins is seeking a Product Manager to advance digital innovation at the intersection of healthcare transformation and health equity. This temporary-to-hire role will shape and strengthen our digital platforms and learning products that help leaders dismantle systemic barriers to health and integrate health and social care. As Product Manager, you will lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution for key initiatives, including the Social Needs Investment Lab, the Health Equity Policy Hub, the HealthBegins Academy, and other human-centered design projects. Reporting to the VP of Learning & Innovation, you will develop clear product priorities and business recommendations, then drive delivery in close partnership with internal teams and external vendors. This role is central to HealthBegins’ Learning & Innovation portfolio and requires product strategy, user-centered design, business acumen, and strong execution skills. The ideal candidate is an emerging product leader who thrives at the intersection of public health and business and is comfortable moving from big-picture strategy to detailed product delivery. What you’ll do: Product Strategy & Roadmap Execution (50%) * Drive the product roadmap for the Social Needs Investment Lab, preparing prioritization recommendations and rationale for executive decision-making. * Work closely with Health Equity Policy Hub leadership to translate vision into product requirements and delivery. * Identify opportunities to grow HealthBegins Academy, developing cases and go-to-market strategies for specific courses as well as overall business model. * Develop clear use cases, user stories, and product requirements that translate strategy into actionable development tasks. * Partner with developers to communicate requirements, clarify scope, and ensure technical feasibility. * Scope, manage, and deliver features and improvements on time and within budget. * Lead and coordinate feature testing and quality assurance, ensuring new releases meet user needs and organizational standards. * Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure product alignment across HealthBegins initiatives. * Leverage data to guide decisions and continuously improve the user experience. Human-Centered Design & Innovation (25%) * Use human-centered design, participatory design, and lean startup methods to design market and product strategies. * Use best practices for inclusive product design and development, ensuring people most harmed by societal practices are represented and included in research and design. * Lead design research and prototyping for HealthBegins products, ensuring new features and offerings reflect the needs of diverse users. * Partner with consultants on design research within client-facing projects, applying insights to product development. * Apply lean startup and business modeling methods to test and refine approaches to sustainability and growth. * Leverage vibe coding apps for rapid prototyping and MVP builds. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement (15%) * Work with internal teams, external vendors, and partners to ensure product development processes are inclusive, effective, and user-driven. * Collaborate with Program Managers to coordinate product development timelines, resources, and deliverables across HealthBegins initiatives. * Serve as a product and digital innovation subject matter expert on consulting engagements, partnering with Consulting Directors and project consultants to bring product thinking to client work. * Occasionally lead client engagements focused on product development, digital strategy, or innovation, bridging internal product work with external consulting services. * Manage vendor relationships and contracts to ensure high-quality delivery. * Communicate progress, risks, and decisions effectively across stakeholders. Operations & Process Management (10%) * Use agile methods and product management tools to track progress, risks, and resources. * Ensure alignment with HealthBegins’ systems and processes for project and portfolio management. * Support continuous improvement of product development practices across the organization. You should have: * Required: Experience in Medicaid, public health, and/or health equity-focused systems change. * Required: Human-centered design and lean startup/business modeling expertise. * At least 2 years of progressive experience in product management (whether or not you held the title). * Proven track record of delivering digital products, with strong project and vendor management skills. * Proficiency in analytics, agile methods, and product management tools. * Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. Technical skills include: * Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Google Suite. * Proficiency with agile project management tools (e.g., Rocketlane, Jira, Trello, Asana, Monday, Linear). * Comfort with CRM systems, data dashboards, and/or analytics platforms (e.g.,Hubspot, Posthog, Google Analytics, Pendo). * Demonstrated experience with design and prototyping tools, and no-code building tools (e.g., Lovable, v0, Replit, Cursor, Claude Code, Figma). If the role transitions to a regular, full-time position, the compensation package would also include eligibility for an annual bonus based on both individual and team performance.
