Job Description Title Clinical Skills Coordinator Job Classification R2-B, Non-Exempt Department Name Medical Education Supervisor Manager of Clinical Skills and Simulation Work Arrangement Hybrid Eligible California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM) is seeking a detail-oriented and student-focused Clinical Skills Coordinator to support the daily operations of the Clinical Skills and Simulation Center. Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Skills and Simulation, this role plays a vital part in ensuring clinical skills sessions, simulations, and OSCEs run smoothly and effectively. The Clinical Skills Coordinator supports scheduling, communications, learning platforms, and simulation logistics, while maintaining lab readiness, equipment functionality, and accurate student records. This role collaborates closely with faculty and staff to create a high-quality, hands-on learning environment. The ideal candidate brings experience in academic or student services, strong organizational and communication skills, and a commitment to supporting student success. The wage range is dependent on education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience; the budgeted wage range is $26.44 to $28.84 per hour. Applicants must be able to work on campus four days a week. Position Purpose Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Clinical Skills and Simulation, the Clinical Skills Coordinator plays an integral role in the clinical skills center that trains medical students in clinical skills. Essential Functions 85% Clinical Skills Support • Support day-to-day operational activities and events for the Clinical Skills unit., • Prepare and publish student schedules and session materials in Canvas., • Compose and deliver announcements for students regarding weekly activities, OSCEs, and other activities as designated., • Enter OASIS Learning Outcomes provided by the course director and enter the calendar activity for each session., • Track electronic files and log student absences and virtual sessions., • Send and maintain records of student onboarding certifications; BLS, • Maintain the simulation laboratory equipment and required levels of laboratory inventory., • Create a checklist on the SimCapture system and ensure the system is functioning before clinical skills sessions., • Monitor and ensure appropriate standards of laboratory and OSCE room cleanliness, and provide equipment maintenance, repairs, and replacement., • Assist the clinical skills team in organizing the clinical examination (OSCE)., • Provide administrative support to the Manager of Clinical Skills and Simulation and the clinical skills team in developing and implementing the clinical skills course., • Maintain office hours for students. Required Educational Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services Administration, Education, Student Affairs, or other related field, and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in an academic, student services office, or student counseling services environment within a School of Medicine. Experience with B-line or equivalent video systems and task trainers is required for OSCEs. Skills and Abilities • Advanced proficiency with technology and software, including Microsoft Office Suite, MS Outlook/Teams, SharePoint, Canvas, OASIS, Medhub, ExamSoft, or other, similar platforms used in the delivery of Medical Education., • Excellent listening and critical thinking skills., • Excellent customer service skills., • Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal acuity., • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of a collaborative team, to organize and establish job priorities to meet deadlines and changing priorities., • Ability to interact constructively with staff, faculty, students, and community members, with diverse personalities and cultures, exercising sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy with an emphasis on flexibility, customer service, and professionalism., • Ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to recognize sensitive information and handle information with care and discretion., • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail., • Strong initiative., • Ability to analyze information to define and follow up on problems or objectives., • Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects., • Ability to respond well to feedback., • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment., • Ability to work remotely and in the office as required., • Master’s degree in Health Services Administration.
